| Oh man, that sucks!!! I am so sorry you got that news.
Okay, now you have to be a woman and suck it up...which is what women do all the time. You can have a five minute pity party every day...you pick the time, but after those five minutes you get on with positive stuff and try to only surround yourself with positive people.
Positive prayers sent your way. |

| Be your own best advocate.
Make sure you're well-informed.
Find someone to help you, for the days when you feel overwhelmed by it all. Have them stand up for doing things in the way that works for you.
Get busy pampering your body--and your mind. Get them working together, and then your good medical care that you choose will work even better.
Thinking of you.

| Coming to this thread a little late, and just wanted to say I am so sorry.
HANG IN THERE!
The mind is a powerful thing and your attitude and approach to this "project" will help you tremendously. At the end of this you will be a healthier and happier you, just trudge through the trenches to get there.
Write about it here, often, get the encouragement you need and purge your mind of fears and worry.
DT will be here to hold your hand. |

| | Alpha | Thanks again so much. I wish I could hit the thank you button a million times. I am having a hard time sleeping. Stress is horrible on the body and mind. I may just have to ask the doctor for something to help me sleep. I don't like taking pills but I've heard from several already that it's so important to get sleep during all this! I'm just having a lot of anxiety and of course a nice big headache from all the worrying. I'm trying to relax though. I really am. At least until we know exactly what we're dealing with next week. Anyway thanks again for letting me vent. |

| I am so sorry.
My mum was diagnosed with a tumour on her left breast when she was very young. She beat it and lived to be 84 years of age. One day many years ago I asked her how it felt, I didnt mean if it was painful or anything, I meant how it felt to know you had this thing inside of you.
She told me she envisaged it as a punch bag, everyday she punched it (not physically, but mentally) and she kept on punching it. She kept telling it, it wasnt going to rob her of a single minute with her loved ones and that was that.
When I was going through my scare I told myself this too.
Now I do not know if you are able at this moment to visualise your malignancy as a punch bag but if you are, give it one from me and all the others here on DT and you beat this thing girl.
Be around so that in god only knows how many years we are still talking Dobermans and how we get round using our geriatric walkers etc.
Hugs from Spain plus ooodles of |

Pity parties are all about you, and only you, at the time, so you guys will have to figure out a schedule and alternate them.
One of you can be the rock, one has carte blanche to whine all they want. Alternate.
I'm sorry you're both facing physical hurdles. Consider this a wheelbarrow of vibes, for help lifting you over.

I'm sorry you're both facing physical hurdles. Consider this a wheelbarrow of vibes, for help lifting you over. | RFR, I'm trying my best not to have a pity party, but it's very hard. It's amazing how many emotions you can go through when you get this kind of news. The mind can be a very dangerous thing. I'm so sick of worrying. I'm mad at myself for not finding the lump sooner. The size of the thing terrifies me! It's about 4 centimeters. They told me I did nothing wrong and not to beat myself up but I just can't help it. I have slept better the past couple of nights, but I'm so exhausted still. My husband has been great and my parent's will come next week some time I'm sure. We're waiting to hear what we need to do on Tuesday first before they come. Anyway, enough of my rant. Thanks again for the prayers and everything! |

| ND,
Very sorry for the news. Please talk to at least one more doctor before committing to a treatment plan.
Also, you mentioned something about not wanting to take pills. You are in one of the most scary, tumultuous times of your life. A little Xanax and something to help you sleep will only allow your body to heal. You have to let it really rest.
I have a chronic health condition that I will not recover from. I have to manage it. I came out of that hospital with about 1/3rd of my life back.
I know how crippling anxiety can be. I know how stressful it is to lie awake staring at the ceiling or clock so exhausted all you can do is cry because sleep is so hard to find. Let the docs help. A good therapist isn't a bad idea either. One that specializes in serious illness. They are out there.
I have had 2 women in my family with breast cancer and both are survivors. You can do this. Please don't be too proud to accept help.
Take care,
~Bev~ |

~Bev~ | Thanks so much for the advice and kind words. I am sorry to hear of your condition. You know you're not the only one who has told me to ask more than one doctor about a treatment plan. So I'll see what happens with the surgeon on Tuesday and go from there. I won't be afraid to ask for pills for anxiety. I'm pretty sure I'll need them. The hubby and my parents may need to get on some too. It's good to know there are therapists out there for this kind of thing too. I also have my faith and although I feel broken right now, my faith is still strong. Thanks again. It means a lot knowing there are folks on here who care! |
