| Tsunami warning for BC and Alaska After a 7.7 magnitude earthquake off the Alaskan Coast I have just seen the warning for a Tsunami in the regions mentioned in the title.
Please guys, if you are anywhere near the coast, or even a bit inland, be careful.
Mother nature is a cranky old thing when she is pi$$ed and just lately she seems on a roll with regards kicking our butts. |

| Is it normal for this region to have earthquakes?
Here in Spain we have them pretty regularly, but for the most part they are so mild they barely get a mention on local news, much less international. We had one over the Christmas period. A few pictures rattled as if a big lorry had driven past our house, (which it didnt) but nothing more.
So glad it came to nothing for you guys. |

So glad it came to nothing for you guys. | Good, nothing happened to anyone!
West coast has earthquakes, Pacific rim.
Last week Japan had minor earthqueks (M4.0) almost everyday. If it happens during night, I can tell that the earthquake is coming in seconds. Literally I get up and tell " it's coming!" I can hear the sound the ground groans. Since March 11, 2011, I'm very honed of sensing the earthquakes.
Tsunami is very scary. My friend's husband lost his life during his duty to evacuate coastal residents. He was the police officer and had two kids...
Even if it is just 30cm, please take it seriously.

| they are pretty common in my area.
though not the type that does so much destruction to the 'surface'.
but they have been saying for years that we are due for 'the' big one.
