| It's a BOY! Now for names! [Pics] Just had my 19 week ultrasound yesterday for all the fetal measurements and everything (all was normal), and to finally find out the gender!
Now the hard part is coming up with names! Its stressful because you have to think... this kid is going to have this name for the rest of his life. We are looking for an Irish/Celtic origin name since hubby's family has a lot of Irish, and I love anything Celtic related.
Any suggestions that come to mind? I would like to have the middle name of James, since that is hubby's name Just trying to start a list of potentials so we can start narrowing it down in the coming months.
Anyway, here is me, just shy of 5 months along
And here's the kiddo
Thanks for letting me share!

| If you don't mind him sharing a name with a cat, I like Connor. I have a nephew named Brian, and a grand-nephew named Declan. And in keeping with the "red" theme, there's always Rory.

It's hard picking names because there's always someone who has used it first, so that's always what you think of!

| My favorite Irish boys name is Dermot, I also like Declan. Congrats!
Also, I can totally relate to associating a name with someone else/something etc, but once your child is here, you will only associate that name with him (speaking from experience lol). |

| There is a great baby name book that is all Irish names. I think it's called O'Baby . They even have the Gaelic spellings, along with the more common "English" spellings.
How about Fionn? Or the "English" version, which is Finn. One of the great Irish mythologic figures.

There's always Padraig, after Padraig Peirce, hero of the Easter Uprising of 1916.

| Congratulations!!
Heh, we were the other way around. We had names picked out before we even conceived! We had decided a boy would get the traditional family name from his side (4th generation), and a girl would get my mom's name, which is also my middle name. My mom was named after the relative who raised my grandfather (her dad), so it has a rich family history too. We had a boy, so that decided it.
If we ever have another, I'll either use the girl's name we didn't use this time or, for a boy, my Dad's name, which traces back to my great-grandfather.
If you want to keep it simple, but celtic, "Brian" might work? Or if that's too common, maybe names like "Brock" or "Tristan"? (the latter will likely always make me think of Stardust)
And of course, "Patrick" has the obvious Irish connotations as well. Actually, I kinda like the sound of "Patrick James."
Good luck!!

And not to stray off topic, but.....if you wanted to watch Game of Thrones and have cable, just order HBO for a month. That's what we did awhile back and our cable company even prorated it since we didn't keep it for the whole month!

| Congrats! You look amazing btw.
I was also going to say Declan, and of course Rowan is a great name. I also like Liam.
Few others:
Shawn/Sean (pretty common, but a good strong name)
Brennan
Brody
Duncan
Finn
Evan
Keagan/Keegan
Nolan
Trystan/Tristan (all kinds of variations in spelling)
Good luck!

One of my nieces is named Taylor, and--at the time--it was very uncommon for a girl, and now it's everywhere, so you can never really predict that stuff anyway.
Congrats--you look healthy, hope you're feeling well.

| Lots of nice suggestions - my cousin in Oakland has a daughter and son-in-law who live in Ireland and just had a son they named Fionn - nice name, but I had a neighbor lady whose name is Fion, so it feels feminine to me - but Finn/Finnegan is so cool. And Rotten's suggestion of Bran - you gotta be VERY sensitive to the potential nicknames and teasing names - and Bran will bring on poop jokes. You'll come to a fine and elegant name. Liam is lovely, so is the Irish version of Ralph, pronounced "Rayfe" (Raphael/Rayfe being one of my favorite names ever). btw - You are so TINY!! Amazing!

Rory
Lennan
Jameson...not the whiskey - it's my mom's middle name (I know, it means "son of James", but she was the son my grandpa never had)
