| Helping a Hand I met someone online a few years back when she was 16. She's a real sweetheart and caring with a rather... dark childhood. Despite how much of a darling she is, she's gone through so much pain in her life I don't think she'd appreciate of me sharing. Anyways, she's 20 years old now, almost 21, and newly married to her high school love who's in the US army. However, he got moved to Germany so she moved in with him. Since she live on an army base, there are no jobs available for her on or off base. They're really struggling with money since her husband's pay got cut about half. They just recently got their car taken away. This year's Christmas, she spent alone because her husband was off work, couldn't afford a tree, and even ate frozen food. They're really stuck on money and need to find an extra form of income.
She's decided to sell art online, such as drawing and even digital art I believe. So, being a friend for this long with her, I thought I'd help you and give out a word if anyone was interested with a commission with her. Here are some of her art:
She even does tattoo commissions. She does most of her work about horses and Legend of Zelda. If anyone could spread the word, it would be greatly appreciated. She really does need help with income. And if you're interested, feel free to PM me!
(I don't know if this is even allowed here...? I read something about not allowed to promote things or something...?)

| I feel so sorry for your friend and her husband.
However, I do not understand why his pay has been cut in half. Surely you are paid according to your rank, job and this is only affected when you are being punished.
Whilst I am not in a position to buy anything from your friend, I will wish her and her hubby all the best for the New Year and an end to their financial worries. |

| i think some people make facebook pages about their things (like some of our folks who make collars)... and i've heard a lot of people post things for sale on etsy... i'm SO not knowledgeable about this stuff, but there are always ways... i used to see lots of artists set up sidewalk "art shows" - and some cities even sponsor things like that. she's talented, and just needs to be a bit proactive, and maybe she can make it work for her! good luck!

For instance- maintaining airborne status comes with an additional pay incentive, so if a soldier wants or has to come off airborne status, they lose that additional pay. He could also have used up other benefits (like tuition reimbursement programs or such) that wouldn't reduce his base pay but might have reduced his effective income.
Best of luck to your friend!
Etsy and Ebay (or 'Fee-bay' as my one artist friend calls it) both can help her get some exposure, but they aren't free, either. My mom had a Zazzle store for a while too, not sure what their policies are like.

| That first one is adorable (the horse looks neat, too!) Video game art is definitely a niche market. If she can get it turned into stuff like coffee mugs, tshirts, and mouse pads (I think CafePress does all of those) then she could probably get a following.
Edit: Oh, and also - She can try entering her art into shirt.woot.com. It's a weekly TShirt design contest, with different rules (and themes) every week.
