| This is the most pain Ive been in since..... So a wednesday I was running some dry food down to my stray litter that lives in my backyard by the time I hit the bottom step i slipped due to rain leaving the wood wet and didnt think anything of it did my normal chores hit up the gym etc. Well fast forward to the next day where I had two finals to take which meant sitting on those hard chairs all day i started to feel a sharp pain in my lower back (tail bone) this has been going on for two days and seems to be getting worse right now despite of taking meds throughout the day i cant sleep i cant sit i cant walk without being in a ton of pain and discomfort. This is very excruciating and right before the holidays Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| Did you actually slip onto your tail bone?
Get yourself off to a physician/hospital for a check up, if nothing else they will be able to give you some proper medication, (not over the counter stuff) that will help ease the pain.
Wishing you a speedy recovery this Yuletide. |

| my mate slipped on the stairs (inside and carpeted) and bruised his Coccyx he was bedridden for a couple of weeks, he couldnt actually get out of bed for the first few days without a lot of help and pain, so with any luck some good prescribed painkillers should put you in good shape as your are able to move about |

| Hoping everything will be OK. Yes, waiting in the Emergency Room sucks. Spent many, many, many hours with my Mom, Dad, Mother-in-Law, Uncle-in-Law over the years.

| Just think about the dobercuddles and kisses you can get while recovering in bed
I hope the pain goes soon. Please do rehab through a physio/chiro/biokineticist if you can - even if it's not much damage there will be compensation from moving about in pain which, if not corrected, will affect you for months or become permanent and impact your movement later...and then you won't be able to feed the strays...and then what will they do? So you must do it for them ;-) |

| all I can say is I empathise. A couple of years ago I broke L1 and L2, and lay in emergency for 6 hrs before any pain relief meds were given to me. (except for the petherin when I was in the ambulance). Back pain sucks big time.

Hope it isn't too expensive for you, thing is without our health we are nothing. So get well soon. | Medical care is free if you are on medicaid (not medicare) or an illegal alien.
Even when you have medicare you are required to pay something. That's in addition to the monthly payment to the govt taken out of your social security check for your medicare coverage. In addition you buy a supplemental policy that covers what medicare doesn't.
So you either pay for health insurance, have your employer plan or take the chance that nothing happens and have none. If you have none you could negotiate an amount to pay with the hospital.
Obamacare will still require payment to some company/fund for your coverage. |

| I'm so sorry to hear this - and sometimes you don't have to break something for the pain to be just horrific! ice can help the swelling/pain... a bag of frozen peas or corn or beans is the perfect reusable ice pack, wrapped in a tea towel - 20 minutes at a time. NSAIDS (ibuprofen, naproxen, ...) help to reduce tissue swelling within the first hours of an injury (but don't take other pain pills and those together... if you need the stronger pain pills, just take those). Be sure to hold onto railings going up or down stairs for a while!! and... no gym for a while - you need to heal! poor baby!

I work in a pharmacy and know my meds pretty good. People don't think of something so simple as a bag of frozen peas. I have one in the freezer now!

| Thanks a lot guys for the comfort and advice tea when i slipped the stairs were wet it was quiet a whoa moment. Im not a fan of meds, probably because when i was a baby i had open heart surgery and i was so medicated my med tolerance is high, which means sometimes it take a but more to get me to feel better. I always though tooth/ jaw pain was the worst pain in the world (i have gotten lock-jaw and wisdom tooth infections a lot) but this proved me wrong. I wish it wasnt so close to the holidays a lot is going on and feeling immobile = practically useless. And falling on ice is a big ouch ive fallen several times on ice but thankfully i was younger so i lucked out injury wise. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
