| Chain maille dog collars I know there are some very crafty members on this site and I was wondering if anyone knew how to make chain maille dog collars.
Here are some examples of ones I like: |

| Maybe find a local chapter of SCA? They might know someone who makes chain mail that might could do a dog collar. Probably easier than armour.

That, and if there are any LARPs near you. Frequently players will take up those hobbies (chainmail, leatherworking, etc.) to cut down on garb costs. |

| That last one is amazing! Wow. I'd love to have a collar like that for Java.

| I used to make chain mail nothing as crazy as those designs just the typical "European 4-in-1 weave" your basic chain mail armor weave.... And before you ask yes I was a LARPer, and I did make a chain mail coif once OMG did that take forever! I typically made dice bags... Yes I played D&D too...
I will say that their are lots of tutorials on how to do it, and it really isn't that hard to make the "European 4-in-1 weave"
I will say for a dog collar you are going to want a thicker gauge wire and you will probably want to do a 6-in-1 weave

| I saw something like this @ the Nat but was worried they'd be hair pullers so didn't spring for one.
Nicely done tho for sure. Nothing like that on etsy?

I've never made one, but I assume it wouldn't be any harder than the coif lol...
They do take a lot of time though so the price on those collars really doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Especially if you wrap and cut your own wire vs buying it...
But if you are asking to make no... I'll stick with my paracord lol...

(for the record, I still play D&D. Well, in the Spring and Summer. For Fall and Winter, we're World of Darkness in this house). |

| I'd love to play D&D still but I find some people are a little nuts about it... I miss my old friends.

*goes to look* | Well done chainmail won't pull. But take a close look at the rings and make sure they are well-closed.
I have a chainmail headpiece I can wear on my thin, dry, friizzy hair and it doesn't pull.

| JM can't twist your arm now can we? lol
I have emailed a few, I just don't know why some are 100 and some are 50 I assume its the weight? But we'll see. One person told me I can't use it with a leash as it will break and to use it as a vanity collar so if thats true he'd have to wear 2 collars. |
