| Ugh, A Cold for Thanksgiving Yesterday I woke up with a little bit of a sore throat, so I tried to drink a lot of fluids to flush out the system. This morning I woke up with razors in my throat and the start of the sniffles.
My boss just told me about a product named Varigen that's worked for her to shorten colds. Just wondering what else people use to get rid of the nasty cold bug?

| | Alpha | Hmmm. Never heard of Varigan. May be worth a try. I usually just take Tylenol Cold medicine and drink lots of fluids and hang out on the couch. Also hot tea with honey is very soothing on the throat. I hope you feel better soon. ((((HUGS)))) |

| If it's any consolation, I think I might be coming down with a sinus infection. Loads of fun, because I get dizzy.

| I don't think anything "shortens" colds, maybe just relieves certain symptoms while it runs its course whatever course that is.
I'm on day 11 of a nasty one that started just as you describe. And I'm still pretty miserable.

| Our family haven't had a flue shot, in like 15-20 years - we seldom get ill or even much of a cold now.
Co-workers seem to take much more sick time off, the ones taking the annual flu shots.
Radio host Alex Jones talks with Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, an internationally renowned expert in alternative medicine. She has lectured abroad on health issues at numerous conferences, conventions, and universities. Tenpenny's DVD, Flu and Flu Vaccines: What's Coming Through That Needle, explores the problems associated with annual flu shots. Part 1 of 3 Thinking About a Flu Shot? Watch This First! | Mine can't last 11 days! My mom and I have a big shopping trip planned in Chicago on the 30th. I have to be in tip top shape! Quote: |

| I never get a flu shot either. The only time I've seen people get the flu is after they've had the shot!

I have (for years) gotten a mild cold every summer and fall. I have found Zicam (at least gives the illusion of) helps quite a bit. I don't get the "bad" version with sore throat and all often, maybe once every 4 years.
Hot Russian Tea, lots of juice, and plenty of Dobercuddles! |

| So sorry to hear this. Colds are miserable at any time of the year but horrible during the holidays when you want to have fun and good food!
