| Seriously fed up The apartment has been reeking of pot for the past 4 days! It's driving me insane! I'm not sure if it's just me but my sister is definitely annoyed with it too. Pissed off would be a better word. The smell isn't even a subtle scent, it's strong. I just hope it won't stink up our apartment...
Not only is the apartment been stinking up with the smell of pot, but a crap load of drunk university students just will not shut up and blasting their music till 5-6 am. It's not even in their own room, it's literally inside the apartment such as stairways and halls.
The landlord has been writing notes here and there to inform people, but nothing changed.

| Ugh I know how you feel. My neighbor across the way deals and smokes like no tomorrow. I can't stand the smell and I hate that even with my windows closed it fills up our house with the smell. I tell myself at least they're not burning incense on top of it. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| I've been known to call the cops when the neighbors accross the street got drunk and started blasting everyone with Mexican music in the wee hours of the morning. It wasn't the music, because I hear it a lot in my neighborhood, and actually like it. It was the 3:00 AM that I couldn't stand.
As for the pot, I'd be calling in a heartbeat if I knew who it was, but mainly because I'm horribly allergic to the stuff, and have can have an asthma attack at practically the first whiff.

| As for me, they have already broken into our storage shed once and tried to break into the house once (that we know of) so we're scared of retaliation if we do call it in. It's 2 duplexes facing each other so it doesn't take much to figure out who ratted you out. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

| I had friends whose neighbors in college (in a dorm) smoked so much pot. Their room reeked of the stuff and they never touched it. I don't know what to tell you other than telling the landlord/authority but you already did that.
I'm sorry D:

| For those of you that have reasonable fear of retaliation by "bad neighbors" here is an idea that can work....if your local LEO will play along.
You have an issue (neighbor) that needs the police to be involved. You have fear of retribution from neighbor. GO visit the police, explain the issue, see if (BIG IF in some cases) they will play a little game with you.
Get direct phone number to LEO. Stage a "domestic disturbance" at your home when the neighbors offending behavior is in progress. Get out in the yard, yell, scream, throw the garden gnome..what ever makes a public display. Meanwhile, you have called the LEO a few minutes before so they can "respond" to the "domestic", the reek of pot from the neighbor is probable cause (hey, we were at a 'scene' across the street...) to investigate.
MOST officers understand that fear of retaliation is real, and a hindrance to them getting the job done. I have seen SO many officers frustrated by peoples unwillingness to 'get involved' for worry of retaliation. |

| I know someone who was dealing with the people below her in her apartment complex blasting music at all hours of the night. She would leave for work in the morning at like 7:00am and leave the most annoying song or cd she had blasting on a loop. After they had been up until 4-5am. She said that if they said anything she was going to claim that her dachshund was hard of hearing and he liked the music while she was gone. I'm not sure whatever happened with that but it was pretty funny to read her posts about it on facebook. |

| Move out. Sounds like an irresponsible landlord who threatens but does not follow through. The last apartment I was in had one of those landlords...so I moved out.
