you think zip codes are bad, try throwing some random letters of the alphabet in with the numbers... its hard to remember these things... |

I always thought Winnipeg was the "murder capital" in the more recent years.. |

| The Sun is hardly a real newspaper! LOL Calgary is better but Edmonton will do... Alberta is full of great friendly people who would give you the shirt off their back. Can you tell I am from there? Lots of culture and fun too. One bonus, compared to BC, the beer is cheap. LOL Beef is awesome and well there is tons to do. |

I thought Obama outlawed cloves but I see them every time I walk into my local liquor store? It's confusing...
I'm guessing "Murder capital of Canada" ain't got nothin' on Detroit.. I think violent crime per capita is a more reasonable measure.. I live in what's considered a very safe city for its size in the US.. but that doesn't mean bad things NEVER happen here... (but it is really quite rare..)

| It is a per capita thing.
Edmonton has a lesser population than Calgary, but around six times the number of murders in 2011.
I'm not sure that was the year they had the serial killer murdering hookers or not. Possibly.
It is largely about demographics, always is. |

They clove cigarettes are outlawed, but Djarum makes a clove "cigar" as well, which is still legal, apparently. They don't smell nearly as nice (and, from my smoking friends, apparently don't taste nearly as nice either.) |

It is largely about demographics, always is. | If you are talking about the pig farmer that was killing hookers, that was in BC.... and you call yourself a Canadian LOL ANNNND that was QUITE a few years ago.

| I am from Calgary and must say I wouldn't live in Edmonton if I really didn't need to. Calgary is much better!
But Alberta is a fantastic province and I think you will really like it there. The prairies, mountains, beautiful lakes. There is tons to do and the people are awesome. It is so easy to meet people there. I am living in BC now and dream often of going back to Cowtown (Calgary). Sigh.... maybe one day |

Found this online.... might be of interest to you. You're supposed to type in your job (or what field you'd be part of) and it will tell you the min, med, and max you will likely made in your position in your area. Might help to see if you're being paid fairly for your position. http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/wag...ortOption=wage

Anywho, Matt if you're actually interested in crime statistics there's a link for you. I'd suggest not looking at it as to remain positive but I guess pros and cons lists are good. |
