i researched, got as much info as i, as a nobody, could get... looked her up on various search sites, etc., and facebook, the gamut as far as i know. i just don't feel comfortable (personally) getting any more invasive/intrusive.

just remember that her last post was before the storm. also, she doesn't live in an area that would have been affected in the way the east coast was.

Maybe she is just busy helping others clean up? or helping out rescues? Not sure if she was in school or not, but finals are coming up for a lot of people. Just trying to think positive.

For some reason I got it into my head she was in an area that was hit badly by the storm. You don't know how relieved I am to hear she doesnt.

Thanks for the updates. I find myself particularly paranoid/concerned after what happened to Cheryl. I still get knots in my stomach when I read old threads that have been bumped.

I hope she's just been prepping for/recovering after Sandy, dealing with the holidays, and enjoying family.

I've been watching this thread, hoping she'll pop back up, and call us all crazy for worrying so much.

I had thought of Cheryl too when this thread first started, and that tragedy is part of why I'm so worried about S&M's mom.

We are not trying to invade her privacy, we are just really concerned.

I would hate to be all stalkery and privacy-invading...but I also would like to know, somehow, that she is okay.

I think folks here have reason to feel gunshy, and I pray this is all silly and she just found better Doberman people to hang out with, or had secretly been longing to join a knitting forum or something like that, and just does not have time for boring ol' DT.

I saw on an old thread that she is a member of a training facility. Maybe if someone knows her town, you could look up the kennel clubs/training clubs. If its a smaller city, we might just get lucky. However, this would be very stalkerish.

Does anyone know her? I understand about privacy issues but members here aren't looking to invade her privacy just want to know if she is ok. Was anyone friends in real life with her?

I was thinking the same thing last night. She was at the National, I am sure she must have met someone?

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with an anonymous visit from police to see if someone needs help or something.

We had to do it once for a neighbor and it turned out he had just up and left to go stay with his daughter for six months without saying a word (and we knew him well and saw him a lot). He was so touched that we were that concerned about him.

We aren't looking for a reason, but she'd understand the concern, I know it.

just so you know, after all this time, i have still not gotten the letter back, which means it must have been delivered to the address, at least, and the addressee must have been correct (or there was no forwarding address, and the postman just left it in the box - we get that here a lot, and even after 15 years at our previous home, we would get things addressed to former tenants when it was a rental)... and never got a reply - so she either just doesn't want to be part of this any more, for whatever reason, or something happened that she can't or doesn't want to share - divorce?, a death in the family?, bankruptcy?, injury?... we may never know. and face it - sometimes people just leave a forum, just because they grow tired of it, or it doesn't meet their needs, or they get a hair across their bum. c'est la guerre!

If I get mail I don't want, I mark it return to sender. That would make more sense to me, if it DID come back. Or if she changed her email address.

She was a super sleuth, she'd expect no less from us.

Yep, I was checking in, too to see if there was word yet. Hope everything and everybody is okay. I have children, but my neighbor keeps better tabs on me so if my car or truck didn't move he be on the phone or send his kids to invade, er investigate. Really, I DO hope everything is okay with her.

At work, we occasionally have to send a physical letter or postcard if we can't get in touch with a patron via phone. The delay on a returned mail item is often extremely long (I'm talking months)
