Hey Dyson Owners!
So...with holiday shopping just around the corner, there should be an opportunity for me to become a Dyson owner myself. But...I don't know which one to get?? We only have Duke, no other pets, and 70% of the house is hardwood. Should I be getting the Dyson Animal or the Dyson Multi-Floor?
Oh...and if anyone has a cheaper suggestion other than a Dyson that they'd like to recommend, I'm also open to it. I'm just tired of blowing Duke hair around the house instead of having it actually sucked up into the vacuum!

We have a Dyson Animal. Love it. Have had it for 7 years, with 4 dogs. A lab, a mallie, a vizsla and a dobie. The lab and the mallie shed their own litter of puppies daily. The dyson has had no problems keeping up... even though i may not always

I've got the animal and it sucks... Had it a couple years now and have never had a problem with it, just wash/replace the filters every now and then.

I've had a dyson animal in my 4000' foot home for 8 years and it is still working! I do hardwood, tile, and carpet with it. I'd love to get another one so I don't have to lug one up and down steps as much (main floor/finished basement/second floor).

I do have the Dyson Animal. It's cumbersome for us, but does a good job. I am going for the digital slim for Christmas and can't wait!!

So has anyone experienced the Shark? They are comparing it to the Dyson on TV.
What would I do without them?

We have 2 Dyson's and 1 central vac system (installed 20 years ago).
- having the long hoses was a PITA, in a 2 story house, with a finished basement / Dyson replaced our central vac
a) Dyson orange ball DC25 - all floors, pet model.
b) Dyson purple hand held battery powered DC31 animal.
- great suction & decent battery life, used for oak steps, cleaning dog hair under coffee table and removing bird seed daily (under cage)

I love this forum, topics from 'help my dog wants to kill everyone' to 'I'm buying a vacuum cleaner!
we have a dyson, I have no idea what one it is, its an upright had it probably 8 years (?) sucked everything from dog hair to concrete rubble and it still works like when it was brand new!
I don't think any VC is as good as them.
