| Significant others thread. I'm sure we've had one of these before, but here's a new one! [: mostly because I want to flaunt my amazing boyfriend to everyone.
Well. Practically a names to faces, partner addition. Stories of how you met, happy memories, whatever. c:
I'll start
This is Levi, he's only been in my life for about a few months now.. But he's made everything bearable and even enjoyable. He's way too great for words. Talent, smart, hilarious, sweet, yadda ya. c: and he loves Juno.
So, that's a plus. He's brought me into a new place in my life. An optimistic place. A place of laughter, happiness, and light. He encourages me to go so far. He's supportive in everything of mine, as I am with him. He's actually encouraging me to get a new dog (for whom I have huge plans with) - he wants me to get done with school. Ah, he's been great so far. He's one of those ones you'll never let go purposefully.
I mean, look at this. Look. We're so damn cute.
Now, everyone else post and mush with me.

| Unfortunately, neither one of us is very good at taking photos, and, as a result, we don't have many. We have a few cute semi-candids from prom, though:
And a photo booth strip (sorry, this will probably take up an absurd amount of space):
We actually met back at a friend's party back in September 2011, but I was seeing someone else at the time, and he was pursuing aforementioned friend/party host. She ended up blowing him off, and I ended up breaking up with the guy I was with.
We met again in early February, at a different friend's basement "rave." We hit it off really well, and wound up exchanged numbers at the end of the night - he actually left the party and then came back once he realized he hadn't asked for my number. We talked casually and flirted back and forth for about a month, and then started officially dating in March.
He's currently at boot camp in Parris Island. I miss him terribly, and I can't wait to see him again in January. For now, though, my days are brightened by the prospect of letters in my mailbox, and I'm happy to wait for him. Almost one month down already!

This is hubby and I on our wedding day, 35 years ago, heck was it that long ago. How time has flown.
He is still the light of my life, even though he is now suffers from brain damage thanks to an incident involving his work. forever. |

| I like this thread
Here's my SO and me. We're horrible about getting pictures together so we don't have many. I'm actually in the process of finding a photographer to take family pictures for us.
Anyway here we are. We've been together for almost 2 years now.
This is my favorite picture of us.
We met at work. I've actually known him for probably 3ish years now. He was shy and we never really talked in the beginning and did that awkward we like each other but were just not going to tell each other thing haha I finally got his number and we started talking and one thing led to another. I actually moved in with him and his roommates about 2 months before we started dating and we've lived together ever since. We moved out on our own last December right before we got Diesel. We've done everything backwards pretty much. I couldn't ask for a better guy. He's my rock and I love him very much. It's a nice feeling being with someone you know you're going to spend the rest of your life with. |

| This is me and the hubby. These are mostly older pics of us but some of my favs!
This was at a Xmas Function 2009 and probably the most fun one I've been too!
Couple of my favourites from our Wedding!
And one of our honeymoon in Mexico!
We met just over 4 years ago and I love this man so very much and miss him like crazy at the moment but I only have another 6 weeks to push until I get to see him for 2 weeks over Xmas! Not entirely sure I will divulge details on how we met as it is funny but also kind of bad but we met when I was on a night out with some mates and he was patrolling the town I was out in with the local Bobby's! |

Here's hubby and I from the photos we had done in September. We've been married for 13 years!
We met when we were 18, we lived in the same apartment complex. He asked me out to dinner and the rest is history. I just turned 20 when we got married...he still doesn't like to wait for anything lol.

| This is me, Zac and my SO. We met at Tim's (Canadian coffee shop in case people don't know). Minus his learning curve of a Doberman compared to a barn dog we have been solid! We have been dating almost a year but I feel I have known him forever. He is a great guy. I don't see him nearly enough as he lives 3 hours from me and is going to school (= broke).

This picture is rediculously old, from '92, I think.
Kind of a funny story about how we met. My sister and I had driven to Dallas from Muskogee, OK, to attend the North Texas Irish Festival. He had driven up from Beaumont, TX, with the woman he was dating and a friend. He was wearing a very distinctive hat, and my sister kept seeing him, and commenting on it, but every time I looked, he had disappeared. Well, we were at the jam session in the motel later that night, when in come this guy carrying an autoharp. I pointed him out to my sister, and she said "Oh, that's the guy with the hat." We chatted a bit, but at 2:00 AM, I'm not at my best.
Sunday, we saw him at one of the concerts, and invited him up to sit with us. My sister gave him a shamrock that our mom had crocheted (she used to make dozens of them for us to give to people). I said, "Cat hairs included at no extra charge, cat's choice of colors.". So, we started talking about cats (he'd had to put down his cat due to kidney failure), and just kept on talking for pretty much the rest of the day. We even stayed in the parking lot talking until our were about the only cars left.
That was the first weekend in March, 1991. We were married the day after Thanksgiving.
I just tell him that he's stuck with me now, because divorce is too expensive and murder's too permanent.

| Great, happy thread Love the pics and stories. Keep them coming! It's nice being FB friends with some of you and seeing happy couple pictures.
Sean is my boyfriend of 1 yr 3 months. We met by fate all because of this black German Shepherd, Master Chief, that Sean adopted:
I fostered/adopted/owned Chief back in 2009..
..he was my heart dog, my shadow, and it is incredible that he found his way back into my life and I have an amazing boyfriend because of it The story of how we met is long and some people here know it, if anyone is interested in the story, I'll PM you a link instead of posting it all here.
So..here we are today. I have trained Sean well and he is now my rescue ranger..diving into the world of dog rescue with me and fostering his very first rescue dog that we saved together on a highway, educating people about BYBs, puppy mills, and responsible dog ownership, advocating for and educating people about bully breeds(after previously not having any experiences with them and just generally not liking them/fearing them because of the media), and loving/supporting me every step of the way in everything dog-related that I do.
all of my dogs love him
He's been with me through my big surgery
as I've through his
I could not ask for a better guy. He calls me his "eve"(life-giver) and we hope to have a long and happy future together. I know the dogs love him a lot too. |

| What an awesome thread. It's sooo funny now seeing faces to screen names because all I know are screen names to avatars or screen names to signature pictures
My husband and I got married this year in June and got Angus in September. We'd been dating 7 years in May We met through a mutual friend who I'd been friends with since birth, and who Aaron (hubby) knew through high school. I went with our mutual friend to see the fireworks that are done in our city for Canada Day, and Aaron happened to bump into us. We started chatting about a year later via MSN (ohh good ol' MSN) and a few months later were dating! We've been together ever since.
Actually, my hubby was the one who introduced me to dobermans. When I told him I wanted a dog who would be good with children, had more energy and would be a cuddler, he said "Look into dobermans, they're awesome. You'd like them." My initial look was probably -- ... "Are you crazy? They're aggressive!"... And now we have a doberman Shows how much I knew...
Us back then:
Us for our wedding:
Us now & normally lol (Aaron can't NOT make faces in pictures...look how little Angus is hahaha): |

| Don't know if this'll work, as I'm still trying to get used to the new laptop... David & I have been married 35 years, and together 36.5 ...
first anniversary, June 1978...
many years later...
I was "set up"... we met at an Army/Navy Surplus and bait shop owned by D's best friend. I thought it was accidental, and didn't learn until decades later, that his friend and he had arranged the meeting. Honestly, for a "sophisticated"New Yorker, I am so freaking gullible!

| my story is an interesting one.
dave and i have been together 13 months. which isnt a lot for many people but i spent the majority of my entire life being very against long term relationships - cutting everything off at the pass and making sure to never get involved.
dave is actually the brother of one of my good friends/techs from work. we hung out once when we took the dogs swimming - that day, berlin met him and didn't bark at all. we joked that berlin loved him, we should get married.
didn't think much of it but mentioned that he was cute. so began over a full year of mocking both of us about getting married - his sister would joke about having a doctor in the family, i would joke about liking younger men (he's 9 years younger than me). i was having a party last august and she asked me what she should bring and i joked "your brother" - and she did.
that night dave and i literally spent hours talking. nothing happened at all - everyone was drinking but we literally talked the whole night. over the next few days we started emailing and texting and such, and we started talking daily. he's still in school (finishing his masters this year), and he went back and we kept talking more and more.
life with him is great. we joke that this is all because of berlin - more than anything, i found someone that loves my dogs as much as i do and tolerates them being in bed with us, laying on us on the couch, and how much they mean to me. and i love him for it.
so do the dogs
being with him makes everything right, and i cant imagine ever not having this!

| My fiance, Eric. We are getting married on Saturday. 6 days.
We grew up within miles of each other, and both traveled in "dog circles." He did competitive sports, I did conformation showing. I worked in veterinary medicine for six years, including two in an emergency clinic, and then left. He worked in the same emergency clinic, but not at the same time that I did, and the local humane society. We lived a mile and half from one another and had never met.
Our paths crossed exactly once. When I was working in a general practice clinic and he was in the emergency clinic, we referred everything beyond our scope or after hours to that emergency clinic. We had a lot of contact with their staff - a lot of shared clients and follow ups. Now and then I would catch this one guy with this super-deep, amazing voice. I had a raging phone-crush. I'd keep him on the phone beyond what was reasonable. Once, we had a client who came in right at closing who went well above and beyond the call of crazy. New client, screaming her head off in the lobby - I mean horror movie screaming, here - that her cat was going to die. Our doctor was gone. I tried to impress upon her that the best thing for her cat would be to hightail it to the e-clinic instead of shrieking at us, and it still took nearly an hour to get her on her way. It was the only time in my six years that I ever called the clinic I'd referred to with a heads up. I said "I'm sorry, we just sent you someone, and she is truly nuts. Our doctor's gone, I had to." And it was him.
2-3 months after we had both left our clinics for different reasons, a mutual coworker set us up on a blind date. I picked Starbucks, even though I really hate Starbucks, so I could leave quickly if it was awful. We talked for six hours.
10 months later, at 2am, he drove me somewhere with my eyes shut. When we got there, he led me for about 100 feet and told me to open my eyes. We were at the same outside table where we met. Starbucks was closed. He proposed.
We've been together for two and a half years now, and in six days, we'll be married.
The rest are our engagement pictures.

| I married my husband for a similar reason. At the time we met, I had a cat named Monster (trust me, she had earned it), who didn't like anyone, including me. Well, he came to visit (a 12 hour drive, I might add), and Monster fell in love with him. I figured if he was good enough for Monster, he was good enough for me.
