Thanks for the link,

I'm not, my mothers side is german, irish, scottish, and english. I'm only 4th generation American though so who knows what recipes were picked up from past neighbors or church friends We have many polish recipes and hungarian butterhorns among other dishes I attribute to my mother mentioning how when she grew up their neighborhood was predominately polish, it still is very polish and european in the city she grew up in actually lol

This is the one we usually buy http://www.wisconsincheeseman.com/Do...o?omSource=SLI

Ooooh Domina, I need all those recipes.

I, too, am a compulsive baker. Unfortunately, I only have a small freezer under the fridge that fits very little. Usually the SO takes it with him to work, but I still have 3/4 bundt cake and a good 10 cinnamon buns to go before I can start again.

Have you ever made tollhouse cupcakes? It's like a cookie and a cupcake together, it may appeal to you

I also use the base a lot for making cookies and bars with whatever I want to add to them by just changing the amount of flour.

Here they are: ( the recipes for the previous post that I posted, the one with photos )

Pumpkin Cheesecake Recipe : Paula Deen : Recipes : Food Network

Cheesecake tip in case someone needs it: Make a water bath for for the cheesecake. This makes the cheesecake bake evenly. To prevent water from seeping into the removable bottom of the springform pan, wrap aluminum foil completely around the bottom and halfway up the sides of the pan. Place the cheesecake into a pan with sides (or any baking dish with sides) and place the pans into the oven. Use a teakettle to fill the outer pan with hot water. Also, the cheesecake is overbaked once it cracks. Make sure to pull it out before it cracks.

Strawberry vanilla napoleons Ė super easy.

Strawberry pie:

Fresh Strawberry Pie I Recipe - Allrecipes.com
The only recipe I currently canít find is that strawberry banana pie I made last year. I will post the recipe when I find it.

Here is another simple dessert I made.

Itís an adaptation from Tylor Florenceís recipe ( link bellow ). I just made my own favorite crepe recipe, and added my favorite topping ( chocolate fudge ). Yummy and delicious!!!

haha here's the recipe

Toll House Cupcakes Recipe - Food.com - 138087

we always do just chocolate chips and special k in the topping versus nuts and etc... colored holiday chips make it look prettier too because it really is kind of an ugly cupcake lol

Sam...nice...a guy who bakes.
domina - you do gorgeous detail work!
blueberry...it's been years since I've had a chocolate babka... now you've put the idea in my head, you evil woman!! Drool...
lately I've been thinking about making my mom's "monkey bread" so much fun to make - and eat! I need to make something a little unusual to give neighbors who brought us some wood, and others who split it for us!

You can learn it, it's not as hard as it looks.I majored in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, and as a part of my major, I had to take a bunch of cooking classes. We even had a small restaurant that we had to run during our lab days, where we would made complete meals from scratch for our professors and their friends/colleagues ( talk about intimidating, as our professors were great chefs ). Anyway, it's been beaten into our heads that we must make food that's visually appealing for our customers, as they eat with their eyes first. So, that's when I started doing that, and it just carried over into my everyday life. But, that being said, just let your imagination flow...and in no time, you'll have a meal that's visually appealing and tastes great.

I saw this bread on pinterst the other day, and it looked so yummy - I had to make it. Let me tell you, it tastes even better than it looks!!!It's so yummy and light!!!It has no butter/no oil, very little sugar and has Greek yogurt for moisture. You can eat it plain, sprinkled with powdered sugar, whipped cream, maple syrup etc. It's fantastic!!!

Here is the recipe:

Closet Cooking: Strawberry Greek Yogurt Banana Bread

I didn't have much time today ( to make a dessert ), so I made this quick one...I highly recommend it if you're short on time. These are cream filled strawberries. The cream is made out of mascarpone cheese ( you can use cream cheese as well ), whipped cream, touch of sugar and a little bit of vanilla. So simple, elegant, and yummy!!!I like garnishing my cream filled strawberries with a little bit of shaved chocolate.

Here is the recipe:

Thank you so much for such a compliment...

It really sucks that you can't eat anything with yeast in it...are you allergic to it?

Anyway, my Mom always uses this recipe...I've never made it, since she always makes it for me, but she really likes it, and the taste is amazing...

Here is the picture tutorial.

Chocolate Dobos Torte
That sounds delicious. Reminds me of German Baumkuchen. Baumkuchen - "Tree Cake" :: www.howtobaker.com
I tried making Baumkuchen at home before, but it got very dry and hard due to baking all of the layers. So I like this recipe where you cut and stack. I will have to try it some time.

I was going to asked if you learned to professionally cook/bake. Your dessert looks perfect. I find the visual aspect kind of challenging.

Thank you so much for such a compliment, I always find "flaws" in the visual appeal of the food I make. Yes, I did. I majored in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, and as a part of my degree, we had cooking classes for 3 out of 4 years of college. We started with the beginning, all the way to advanced classes. I knew how to cook/bake before, but that's where I learned to "fine tune" my skills so to speak. In the most advanced class, we had these cooking days, where we would have an entire day of cooking "labs". We would make a complete dinner for these chefs and other culinary experts...the meal ticket was $80!!!Craziness!!!That's where I learned to cook with some exotic ingredients( even though I still don't like some "exotic" things that I tried ). I don't work in a restaurant at the moment...but do enjoy cooking/baking at home.

As a matter of fact, I like it so much, that I often make desserts for my hubby's coworkers...I also volunteer for an "American League" organization, where we raise funds and help clothe unprivileged kids that are of school age. One part of fundraising is baking. So i fit right in!lol.

But, you don't have to be a chef to cook like one. I find that cooking channel/you tube have tons of helpful videos.

That is wonderful that you get to do what you enjoy and make a difference in someone's life by volunteering. I am not so much into cooking, that is more of a chore for me. But I love baking. Probably because I have a sweet tooth. I have thought about taking a cake decorating class before. But thanks for the suggestion with the youtube videos. Haven't thought of that one before.
