| morning DT!!
the dude is here for an early start today...I think.
we had lots of rain overnight, not sure if it will impede progress or not.
well..........I hear the machine warming up.
as to the mosquito questions..............yes we have them, though not too bad, lots of natural enemies of them here.
swallows, bats, birds of the insect catching varieties, including Hummingbirds who eat a lot of them. Also lots of other insects and insect larvae that feed on all stages of the mosquitos. And many little stickleback fish will show up quickly, they eat mosquitos at every stage too!
i wont be trapping the fish in the pond, they will be able to come and go as they please, lots of waterways to, through and near the pond/lake.
as catfish, bass etc. are not native to my area i will not stock them or anything else that does not live near here already!
Cool! off goes the hoe to connect the lake/pond area with Pearls pond.
he is going to make a meandering ditch wide and deep enought to row a small boat up and down from pond to pond.
he has a good eye for making it park like too!
he keeps asking me if it is ok to do this or that......I say GO FOR IT!!
i trust him to do an awesome job.

| Darkevs, how much of BC do you own, heck that is a big affair you are having dug there.
Can I borrow your guy, jesus in a handbasket, his work rate is phenomenal.
Here they have to have a coffee in the local bar as they drive into your village, in case anyone wishes to chat and offer them more work, oh and to tell the world and his dog what he is doing at your place. Then they have to have another coffee because all that talking is soooooo tiring and they need the boost so that they can actually climb up into the machine. Then they drive up the mountain, after which they have to go back down because it has made them 'nervioso' what with cliffs being at the side of them as they came up. They then drive back up and if you are lucky dig around after standing looking at the job, kicking over a few small rocks and determining if they can be bothered or not. Then it is lunch time, followed by siesta, followed by an hours work, during which they have to have another coffee because, well they need it. After which they go home. |

| Good morning DT!
and isn't it a fine morning!
not raining.
we have at least another foot of water in the ditch.
he got here real early this morning and is digging a HUGE pond/lake.
we are trying to figure out what to do with all that he is digging out...I said just throw it around here and there, he just laughed and said he would figure it out.
and Toby'shuman..........this guy is the best at what he does, not a wasted motion with that machine. He should have it all finished in less than 20 hours total work.
Sorry 'help' in your area is............no help at all.

second hoe just pulled in!
he is going to use all the stumps in the huge pile he built the other day to help solidify a route to get the stuck hoe out.
2 hoes are better than one.

| water is coming from many different sources.
the rain.
seepage from marshes and a swamp above the north end of the property, runoff from our land, and at least one underground spring!

| yes, because they had to get the gear (to pull the hoe out with the other hoe) under the stuck hoe where they could hook to the main frame to pull her out!
the men had to hand dig with 2 good ol' trusty garden shovels to get this job done............................in..............ab out............4 feet of ooey gooey mud and clay.
all these dudes are over 55.
no one was harmed.
no hoes were hurt.
and all the animals were smart enough to stay way far away.
any other questions..cause it is miller time!
and.
he will be back early in the morning to finish it.
this guy will not quit till the job is done.
and.
everyone took home lots of mud and clay on their clothes for their wives to clean.
i bet they are cursing me.
i did send 'em home with a dozen eggs.
hahahahah
