| Mole/Pest Removal I think I have another mole. The first time I used poison since I didn't have dogs. Now it's been four years. Any suggestions?

| | Big Pup | Cat My cats bring up shrews and moles from time to time. So my advice is cat! Sorry, but that's all I got. Maybe some one else will chime in with other options. Good luck. |

| Ahhh! No cats! Although there are a few cats that roam the neighborhood. Maybe I need to feed them for awhile and get them to hang around...

| You can have our cat... he's been systematically exterminating anything small and fluffy he brought us a dead squirrel today. Something new every day.. its gross!
In all seriousness, perhaps you can use a havahart trap- they're humane. Release them in a field far, far away from your house? Amazon.com: Havahart 1020 Live Animal Two-Door Mouse Cage Trap: Patio, Lawn & Garden
I'd hate to see them killed.. poor buggers.

| I guess I don't know how many. I have never evicted the one(s) in my side yard. It always stayed closer to the street. Now there are tunnels in my back yard. I spend much more time and energy on caring for the grass in the back. So now I am irritated that I am sinking back there. Maybe Magic needs to come visit...

| I live pretty deep in the city. So I have never seen any owls near my house or even any snakes. But the bald eagles nest about a mile away... Too bad they never fly over.

| i do not train my dogs.
i just praise the good and ignore the bad.......they hate to be ignored.
so they are always good.
to get Magic to dig anywhere..all i have to do is scuff the ground with my shoe and say.............what's that? and off he goes digging.
he is not allowed in the garden cause he digs crooked rows.

| The first year my parents had their current dogs was the last year the garden didn't have a fence. The dogs dug up every single potato. Then they would chew on them so they wernt even a little salvageable. That year they would also pull off the tomatoes right before they were ready to pick. They would eat them too. The only thing left is jumping at the branches of the pear tree (very low hanging) and eating pears all summer. Weird dogs...

| Alright, so I put this question on Facebook. The response I got was, moles eat grubs. Kill the grubs, and bye bye mole! What do you think?

| Tried that Yup, tried that. Grubs are pretty hard to get rid of, as they are pretty deep and short of turning the ground up or creating a toxic lagoon you can't know if you got them all. Tried Grub-ex too; didn't help.
Hate to say this here on this list, but <ahem> Terriers were bred for digging up vermin.... Being deep in the city, I'm sure there's no shortage of American Stafford-shire Terriers around. Invite one or two in to your yard. i bet they can catch the moles. |

| The best way to get rid of a Mole is to let a Jack Russell at it. Mind, your garden may look like a war zone afterwards but thems the breaks.
You could try smoking the little darlings out and or trapping them.
You could also wait till you see the mole coming up in its mound and smack it one with a shovel.
Last but not least, blow the blighter up by putting a firecracker in the hole. I say a firecracker because these are readily available over the counter and won't scare the neighbours too much. (We had moles on our farm in the UK and my hubby [a weapons/explosives specialist] made a couple of bombs for the holes and blew up the field scaring the neighbours out of their wits. Got rid of the moles mind.) |

What do you think? | Yes, tried that...didnt work. We have had moles in our yard for 2 years and dam if they arent multiplying!! My husband has tried several things to no avail (traps, poison) and he is very frustrated, we have mole mountains all over our front and now back yard...
Now in our new yard, we just moved, my husband saw about 2 days ago, a mole path in the backyard...he is now on a mission
If anyone finds anything that works, please pass it on.
