I have to get in on the cast iron rant!

MIL if you scrub all of your iron skillets with soap and water and a scouring pad, I will never be able to season them properly!

Please leave one just one for me to cook with so that I don't have a sticky mess when I go to cook breakfast.

Lol I ruined my husband's cast iron skillet by scrubbing it with soap and water. Never dealt with cast iron before him so I didn't believe him when he told me I wasn't supposed to wash it.

Somehow, I am giddy to have an honorary mention here. Lmao.. Luckily I can find the humor in a situation. Really, I am quite harmless when not being spoken to in a derogatory fashion.

Ok... now lets wait for RedFawn to go off on a tangent about me. 3....2....1.... GO!!

I agree! However I did see where I believe it was you that talked about the Costco Kirkland dog food. We might look into that. We are going through a 26 lb bag about every 9-10 days and at $60, it would nice to find something that was equal quality at a lower cost. We would rather spend the money on training.

Wow... I never knew I thought of myself this way?! Thanks for telling me!

On a serious note.. I completely agree with correcting misinformation. I think that some people just like to think they are the only ones who can be right about a topic, and that is not the case. Many situations in life are like math. Several different methods to get the same answer. Being understanding of this will allow a much greater understanding of each other without irrational anger.

It's good. I use their grain-free formulas. My dogs like it, and do well on it. I do rotate brands with some other premium kibble, though, esp. if I catch something on a good sale.

I am committed to feeding my guys premium nutrition, but some of these companies, it's all hype and marketing, and the ingredients really aren't that impressive.

Beast, you're my car, and I love you dearly, but CUT IT OUT!!!! I don't like being in the middle of nowhere when you decide to start making strange noises!!!! It had better just be something fairly inexpensive and quick to fix, like the alternator we suspect, and not something more expensive and time consuming. I want to get home on time. I miss my cats and dogs. I even miss my nasty-tempered, unfriendly bird.

Uh, if you have a car like mine, which requires pulling the entire freaking engine, in order to replace the alternator--it's not such a simple, inexpensive job. Sorry.

I'll cut it out now, with the freaking out of the Rosemary

I don't remember having to pull the engine the last time. Beast is a '91 Linclon Towncar. What do you have?

ETA: Glad I threw in a couple extra days worth of food for Ilka, though.

Sure, it's all life-stages.

Rosemary newer and smaller. And harder and spendier to have worked on, apparently. Days of the shade-tree mechanics are becoming numbered, I fear, if Detroit has its way.

You might be fine. I think hands larger than those of a Capuchin monkey can fit in your engine.

There are two foods at Costco - I've fed both. One is Kirkland Signature Chicken and Rice, and it's a good food. It does have grains, though not corn. Around here, it's $25 for a 40 pound bag, I think. It's a little lower in calories than some of the high end foods, so pay attention to that. You might have to feed a little more.

If your dog doesn't do well on grains or you want to go grain-free, you can pick up Nature's Domain at Costco. There is a fish formula and a turkey formula. They are about $30-35 for a 30 pound bag. I fed both formulas for quite a while and liked them very much. It's not what I feed currently, but I do recommend it as a pretty good food at a great price. It's basically the same as Taste of the Wild, manufactured by the same company (Diamond), but only available at Costco.

Dear friend:

Stop being a whineypants sour grapes. You for some reason have decided that you're an authority on certain matters, and there are some of us who disagree. You took your toys and went home; stay there.

Kisses,
Me

It's a Detroit-born? I am surprised then, as I tend to think of the American* cars as being a bit more shadetree friendly.
But I think the alternator is an easy fix in my '04 Honda even.

Of course, the alternator is not what is broken in my little Civic Hybrid. No, that would be the IMA - the stuff that makes a hybrid a hybrid. >.< The Haynes manual doesn't cover it at all, and I cant even find a decent wiring diagram or schematic.

Honda (and all other car manufacturers) - quit having codes that you don't let generic tools read. It defeats the entire point of OBDII for you to be all proprietary with your trouble codes so your $stealerships can charge a $100 'diagnostic fee.' Cut it out.

*Side note: Can we really refer to cars as "foreign" and "domestic" anymore? When Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Hyundai and more have plants in the US, and Chevy has manufacturing in China?

It's the alternator and tensioner pully. They have to get the alternator from Phoenix, and will get the repair done as early as possible tomorrow morning. It's going to be about $415 for parts and labor. At least we're in a nice motel.

My husband's car is an '02 Taurus. It has the high performance engine option. (We bought it used.) Nice car, but expensive to work on.

Basil! Quit waking up and moving from that ultra cute position every time I click "on" on my camera. There have been too many missed photos and I don't want to be the only one overwhelmed by your adorable, albeit hilariously funny sleeping positions.

Cut it out flu. My baby isn't even 2 months old yet so I'm scared of her catching you. I also don't appreciate losing my voice and having an achy body.
