seriously, though...i'm a woman in IT, and i've been here for about 8 years. i work my tailfeathers off to keep my status as someone who knows her stuff. i have been insulted, overlooked, talked down to, and verbally molested by people who don't get that women can actually do technical things and aren't just the administrative assistant for the department. women who dress inappropriately for the job contribute to the general negative opinion of women in IT, and make it that much harder for the rest of us. |

| Stop posting a billion facebook posts about how broke you are, and you can never do anything because you have no money and you dont qualify for scholarship grands, and you cant get student loans BECAUSE YOU JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR YOU CANT AFFORD. GET RID OF YOUR CAR AND STOP COMPLAINING.
You DO NOT need a BRAND NEW car. STOP acting like you do! I don't feel sorry for you at all.

| Cut it out with joining a forum just to find a mate for your dog. It'd be easier to deal with if they trickled here one by one but they seem to always come in groups. Reminded me why I have the intro threads on ignore on my other dog forum. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

PLEASE stop hurting me, seriously, those "love bites" are not lovely, nor are the bruises covering my arm... Looks like my very sweet b/f has been hitting me thanks to your giant clumsy face being incapable of coming near me without making contact.
So CUT IT OUT!

| Dear co-worker(s), please take note of my status before you send me an instant message. Yellow means I’m away from my desk which most likely means I’m at lunch or really away from my desk and not able to respond to you at the moment, yet you sit and wait…no doubt scratching your head and wondering why I haven’t responded. Red means I’m busy or in a meeting, yet you still interrupt me with your selfish request or idle chit chat because your day ends at 3PM and not one minute later. Oh, did I say I was busy…working on my own projects? Green means I’m available but I guess you think that means I’m busy or away because you never send me an IM when it’s green. Thank goodness beige is truly offline or you would probably try to send me an IM at the butt crack of dawn when you get to work and I’m still sleeping.
Thank you for your consideration.
Second gripe for today
Please…….stop talking on your cell phone in the ladies room! Number one, I have no desire to hear your personal conversation and second, it’s just gross! One hand on your phone and the other on the toilet paper roll, eeek!
I feel so much better now .

Then, when I am accosted by music I'd rather not hear, bass or no, I can respond with more dynamic music. Classical. I've longed, ached to be able to do this for so long.
(Disclaimer: This does not mean I don't listen to other sorts of music, up to and including some of the stuff that's oft blasted from these units. It just means that I feel a little classical in response would be just desserts. I choose what I want to listen to, you choose what you want to listen to. It'd be considerate of you to not make me listen to yours, but if you insist....cuz I'm just that sort of ornery.)

| A local plaza plays classical music so the teenagers don't hang around - and my dd's old high school used to play bagpipe music on the nights that they wanted the kids to clear out quickly so they could set up for whatever was going on that evening.

Obviously, Highland pipes are best, but really, any kind of bagpipe (Uillian, Northumbrian, etc.) will do.

| A friend of mine plays the bagpipes--she has to go outside to practice sometimes because her family gets tired of the noise.
Of course, that way the whole neighborhood gets to hear bagpipe music. Those things carry a long long way. Surprisingly, no complaints.

So, Ma Nature.
Cut it out.
Rain. OR snow.
Either.
Just cut it out with this in-between icy crapola.
