 | Niki the pig.....
This afternoon we are having our 12 year old pot bellied pig mix put to sleep. He is not one of those small ones, he weighs at least 150 pounds, and his mobility is gone from carrying so much weight for so many years. He in not easy to handle, and this will be traumatic for him and for us. Send all the good vibes you have....we need them.

| It's done.....it went ok....the vet was really nice, and Niki got to eat a whole box of cookies, so he really didn't get as upset as we thought he would be. Poor guy was so crippled the last year, we are happy he if finally out of pain. The vet said he never sees them live to be 12, that made us feel better.

This was the hardest part.....we have known for a year that we needed to put him down. His front legs were very frail and weak, and he would now lay down to eat. What happened was his regular vet bailed out on us, said we would have to take care of it ourselves! There was no way we could do that. I finally found a vet that knew how to do it. He also charged....$450!!! Yikes....our vet bills this past year! Hopefully Petey will be healthy for a while!
