it's only important to a gay couple wanting to divorce. But aren't gay couples really super happy and don't divorce anyway? so its a moot point.

Said this before, say it again... The divorce thing is not a priority for any gay couple I know. You just seemed so concerned.

Come tell us who the gayest gay guy is and solve all the problems! That's the REAL issue right?

50%. that's a straight marriage statistic. so the bar isn't that high.

and, let statistics work their magic. As time marches on, and gay marriage becomes more commonplace, legal... and couples start suing each other to dissolve legal unions, divorce will be more a priority, just like it is for the 50%.

it would be interesting to dig deeper into the statistics of the 50% of marriages that work/fail - demographics, religion, married young/old, etc.

it seems the really old farts that get written up in the newspapers for being married for two millenia:

interviewer: "what is your secret to a long happy marriage?"

the man: "well, uh, uh... dear.. tell me what to say... "
