Tag Bags

I'm looking for information and links on how to obtain a dog tag bag. They are little bags that attach to collars in which you put your dog's tags. This prevents the annoying jingle and also saves the tags (like county license!) from being scratched off.

Has anyone tried these? Do they work? If so are there any websites that provide ways to make your own?

I was able to google a couple but either the fabric seemed to flimsy or they were made of huge, bulky leather.

My dogs have QuietSpot Tag Silencers. They're made of neoprene, but hold up pretty well. Winston's had his red one on non-stop for over a year with no damage. A dog could easily chew through one I suppose, but mine know that they aren't to grab tags or collars.

They work really well. I hate jingling tags, which is why my dogs have QuietSpots. I also have one on my Toller puppy called a "Pet Pocket", and it's good too, but I prefer QuietSpots as they hang off the ring while the Pet Pocket attaches to the collar with an elastic loop thing and tends to look a bit bulky for my liking..

Not sure how you'd go about making your own, as I know nothing about stuff like that, but the two brands above can be purchased in lots of places online.

ah cool thread, thanks guys!!

But on the other hand, as much as I can't stand the 'jingle', how else would I know what he's up to in the other room?! That's how I hunt him down!
