| Oh, I once had a boarding/grooming client--big sweet ol' Golden, whose people had a place in Florida, along one of the canals/lakes.
Husband always walked Sam with him to the mailbox, nearly a mile to the end of their drive, and back.
Wife was always harping on him not to forget Sam's leash, as he was SUCH a water dog, and there were so many big gators in the canal right by their drive.
Husband, of course, blew her off, and one day, SPLOOOSH, ol' Sam just dives in the water, ignoring husband's frantic attempts at recall.
Husband then tells us he sees two or three big gators calmly slide off the bank and into the water, making a beeline for splashy Sam.
Husband dove into the murky canal water, grabbed Sam, and swam hell-bent, for shore.
We were all oohing and aaahing at his appropriate level of love, devotion, and heroism, on Sam's behalf.
Nah, he said, I was just more afraid of Nancy than those gators.

I look at my 3 dogs and couldn't imagine life w/o them. Sebastian's picture reminds me of the way Nissa looks when she's trying to be quiet and all "ninja" when waking me up in the morning. She knows I can be kind of snarky in the mornings. Kind of like "Okay mama, I know you're not quite awake, but please look at me and wake up - I have to PEEEEEEE really really bad." Tee hee...
Sorry - I digress... |
