| I am not a big book reader. But I have one I finished recently that I really recommend(and have done so for a few ppl on here already). Called "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene. Its about string theory and other quantum mechanical possibilities. Also touches upon general relativity, black holes, the speed of light, and the beginning of time. It is a tough subject for many but don't be scared away by that as he explains it very well and makes it quite easy to understand.
Its really worth a read IMO. Coming from someone who dosn't read much.

| I'll second the Laurell books. She's a local author here and I love her books. I adore Anita and her sense of humor.
I read a lot of Koontz too. Stephen King did me in on Dream Weaver. Couldn't finish it and haven't since picked up one of his books. I also enjoy true crime, specifically Ann Rule. Quote:

But my favorite books are the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton! She is by far my favorite author.
I know, now I'm the dork.
But they're vampire/lycanthrope books if anyone is interested (they are my favorite type of books to read), and her characters are simply fantastic.
Books can get a little R rated from time to time though... | |

They are adventure, mystery but Clive Clusser, the author is also involved in real life underwater exploration and savage so he books also have alot of historical background with a twist. Pick one up I recommed them highly. |

| Koontz got me hooked on reading a long, long time ago. I've read all of his and when I ran out I read Stephen King, the Dark Tower series being my favoite. Lately I've found a couple more authors that I really, really like!
Harlan Coben is really good, he has a series about a character named Myron Bolitar that is good.
Then there is Jonathon Kellerman and his "Alex Delaware" series, also great!
And the newest addition to my addiction is Lee Child and his "Jack Reacher" series.
I think I've read just about every book by all of the above, it's time for new books or a new author!

| I love Clive Cussler books - pure action adventure - even if it is a bit farfetched!
I'd rather read than watch tv, and I read for pure entertainment most of the time.
Evanovitch - hysterically funny books set in NJ
Nora Roberts - pure fun entertainment
Stuart Woods - sex and murder
James Lee Burke - hard to describe... deep south detective mysteries
Nevada Barr - national parks ranger - murder mysteries
Laurien Berenson - dog show mom .... with murder mysteries
These are just some of my favorite authors - kind of a mix! I like murder mysteries.... in case no one noticed - LOL!
In my youth, I loved Steven King and some of the old vampire series by Rice. I also used to love trashy historical romance novels

Get me in a Borders store and I can stay for quite awhile. To me, to live without dogs would mean accepting a form of blindness.__
