and
Mossberg MARNR 12g 18" 6SH CB TACT SYN for Sale at Buds Gun Shop

if u want a pistol grip for manuverability but don't want kick...this should kick much less;
Mossberg 500 CRUISR 410g 18" 6SH CB PG for Sale at Buds Gun Shop
simple gun...and to the point

i think i'd im leroy about his mosberg 500...sounds as tho he knows allot about that style gun and it may be pretty versitile...add and remove a pistol grip if u don't like it...get aftermarket stuff if you want...may ask what he thinks of a smaller caliber?
-another user had a gun like his and seemed to like it...was talkn' w/him earlier just my opionions
obviously julie/donnie seem pretty knowledgable amongst many others on here....
it seems that some of these don't hold as many shots as some other options...something else to check into.

Hmmmmm, never thought of that. He said if it turns out they are not functioning well, then all shops have gunsmiths that can fix them. Good thought but I don't have enough experience to buy at a flea market, etc..... Anyway, I think I want a shotgun (really I want everything but I can't buy it all at once), but will remember to nix the pistol grip.

BTW, I did not understand what a pistol grip was till LeroytheDobe posted his comment, Thanks, now I get it.
I have to disagree - DO NOT buy a gun of unknown quality or condition. Please. DTers do not want to read your obituary from a misfired gun. Pay the money and get a good gun.

How about this one:

Mossberg 50452 500SP 20 18 CB 6SH SYN PGK for Sale at Buds Gun Shop
Specifications
Action Pump
Gauge 20 GA
Barrel Length 18 1/2"
Capacity (5 + 1 2 3/4") (4 + 1 3")
Chamber 3"
Length 29 1/2"
Weight 5 1/2 lbs
Drop 1 1/2" @ Comb & 2 1/2" @ Heel
Stock Black Synthetic
Finish Blue

What do you think?? Any warnings?
again - with a Mossberg, the pistol grip is an interchangable option. Don't rule out the gun because the grip - you can put whatever grip you want on it.

Ok, I'm sitting on the couch and my dogs start barking from loud bangs. Not fireworks, my neighbors adult son (who is caring for him), is out back shooting at a tree with a can nailed to it. Of course I go over there and talk to him. He is shooting with a SA that he says is the eqivalent of a 9mm. I could barely pull the thing on top to chamber one. Then when I was trying to pull the trigger, I thought maybe there was nothing in it. By the time I pulled it hard enough for it to go off, I have no idea if I was still aimed at the tree or not. I'm also deaf now with ringing in my ears. So I see what you guys mean about the SA. Do they have anything quieter? lol..

Don't worry everyone, I plan on buying new and having lessons and having it registered to me..

what is SA? sounds like it was a revolver? and it sounds like you had a hard time pulling the hammer back and it had a firm trigger...

welcome to revolvers maybe not for you.

"Do they have anything quieter?" NO guns are loud!!
Shame Shame Shame - for not shooting with hearing and eye protection!! tsk tsk tsk... bad!

and then you have to learn how to shoot - breathing, squeezing the trigger, not jerking it, etc... you have to be able to hold your line on the target regardless if revolver, semiauto or shotgun.

They are all kind of different.
sa- is that semi-auto?
thing on top- is that the slide?

ah - yes I bet SA is semiauto and the thing on top is the slide. That's the problem my wife (a small petite woman) has with semiautos - she can barely pull the slide back, thus a revolver for her.

SA-semi automatic, one of those lightweight ones, basically felt weightless. He said it kicks worse because of the weight. He also said it was a cheap brand one.

I actually thought of the protection when he offered for me to shoot but I did not see anything around in the field we were in. Next time I hear him shooting (if he ever does again, he said this was the first time in 2 years), I will stuff my ears and wear sunglasses. :-) and ask if I can shoot again.

I certainly do have a lot to learn. I was focusing so hard on keeping my aim and holding my breath, but then when I could not even pull the trigger, I lost my focus. Note to self, hand exercises to build up strength.

Faber I promise I won't get one at a flea market. I know it is not illegal but I don't have enough experience to buy a quality item like that and I sure don't want to hurt myself or to buy something that may have been used in a crime. Nope, I will buy new.

I'm still leaning toward that Mossburg 20g. I friend of mine told me that he thinks that I could handle a pistol grip on a mossburg (I told him I could not even pull the trigger on my neighbors gun this morning. Everyone thinks I'm a bad ass, I'm not sure why but I think because I look like a redneck, see myspace here: MySpace.com - Sheila Rae - 44 - Female - Nicholasville, Kentucky - www.myspace.com/shezor). He said it would easier to manipulate something like that (pistol grip), in the dark, going down a hallway, than a regular shotgun and it would be harder to take away. He also said the 20G would take some of the kick out of it. He is going to call some friends to see if I can shoot their shotgun. Of course in the next breath he told me his wife (who is also a friend of mine and my husbands), is starting to get real jealous. Translated, she is not interested in doing this type of stuff and she may not let him take me alone. I'm thinking a cook out is in order where I call her and invite them both and talk about it in front of her and maybe that way it can work out. Maybe she will offer to have him help me. She is beautiful and very outgoing so I can't imagine that she would be as bad as he says.
Ok back to the subject. Pistol grip. If you use a 20G and jam it into your hip before shooting, will that lesson the kick than a 12 G, holding in front of you?

It is my husbands birthday so I have to get ready to go to the club he is playing at tonight. I will be back on in the morning to see what you'all say about the pistol grip.
