| J is currently on PetSmart's brand. I'm slowly ramping up the protein into probably something like Wellness - I just figured that switching her from something that's 20% protein to something that's over 30% would probably give her the poops and a belly ache.
That said, she's nearly done switching over. I'll probably have her on this for a few months, then switch her up to something with more meat in it.

| I just switched my 7yr old and 16 wk puppy to Nature Valley's Instinct Salmon Meal Formula.
$72.00 for 25.3lb bag
I was told that since I have a blue dob, it's way safer to feed salmon than even chicken. Also when I read the back it said it was great for dogs of all life spans. So... Im switching Bronson off of Blue Buffalo Freedom and Jayda off of Nutro for seniors. |

| I had been feeding Acana Ranchland, sometimes changing over to Acana Grassland. Both dobies were doing great on it. With the new price hikes and the inconsistent availability (I guess part of their plant burned down) I decided to switch to something similar. After checking it out, I switched them over to Earthborn Holistic--Geat Plains Feast. Same protein content, no chicken (one of the most common protein allergies). I'm saving over $15 per large bag and the dobies LOVE the taste. |

| I love ProPlan Performance. My adults and pups eat it because it's so hard to keep weight on active dogs! For elder dogs I once was the sitter ( owners were gone all day and the dogs needed to go out before their mom got home) for several elder dogs including a doberman/rottie cross ( very strange looking pup docked not cropped thick rottie muzzle with the longer dobie head, more bone but the sleek tuck-up..... he was a little confusing to look at but gorgeous!) She fed the elders Innova Senior and I swear it smelled like Chicken soup when I ran hot water on it and let it sit.... or I could have been hungry.... but it gave good coat and small poops! ( yay since I had to scoop the yard!) |

| i used to feed my dog orijen, he didnt really enjoy it tho, there was always lots of left overs. Now i feed him Scienceplan, dont know if you have that in america but my dog loves it and doesnt leave one piece. However i dont only feed him dog food, during the mornings he gets tuna or boiled egg and his food and at night he has a big chicken breast and his food. |

| 4 Health that I get at Tractor Supply! My dogs are on the senior kibble, b/c it's supposedly good for a female that has had false pregnancy (Khaleesi). It's lamb. No corn/soy/grains
I also get the Salmon/Sweet Potato blend. Since I keep seeing chicken kibbles on recall for salmonella, I'm skipping chicken flavors.

| After trying to feed my current pup raw for over a year, we're now experimenting with kibble. It's Wellness Simple (grain-free Salmon formula) at the moment. I also add Wellness 100% Salmon or canned salmon, an enzyme/probiotic supplement and coconut oil to his food. So far so good. I hope to be able to introduce more fresh foods down the line. |

| So, we actually don't have a puppy yet, but we are starting to research food. I read a number of good things about Costco's Kirkland brand Nature's Domain, which is super affordable, but then upon more research, found out that the manufacturer has had a number of recalls for salmonella. So, then I found a number of articles suggesting that Acana's Grasslands was a great food...but geeze...this puppy will be eating better than me for the cost of this food! lol. Does anyone have any insight into what might be a more affordable, grain free, good quality food? Thanks!! |

It's grain free and top quality and costs about $10-20 less per bag in comparison to Orijen and Acana (I order it online at PetFlow). Fromm's grain Free lines are also pretty good and slightly more affordable.
