Finally tried this posting method today and I think I'm going to to like it!
12wks old Female - Week 3 of posting
Also, I see so much talk about ear pockets. I am thinking my girl possibly has one on the right side - Can someone post a true photo of what an ear pocket looks like? I am thinking like this:
From behind it kind of bumps out a bit too. Nothing too dramatic, but this was also the ear that previously liked to tilt inwards with my old taping method. I'm interested to see all of your thoughts on this - I used this new method to a "T", so I am hoping it solves my problems of /_\, popping out & floppiness. This has been a great thread for us! We are still so new to all this Dobe stuff - Much appreciation to all! :grin2:[/FONT]

Thumbs up 12wk old Dobe trying this new technique!
Hello All!
So we're new to the Dobe Scene (as well as the puppy scene ) and have been trying to see if we can find better ways to post our girl Sienas' ears. The reason we were looking for a better way was because the backer rods that we were using re-inforced with Q-Tips, weren't really staying straight and by day 4-5, our gal would have her ears tilting into one another /_\ even with the bridge (tape). So, after a handful of re-posting jobs, the /_\ not getting any better (she would also carry her ears this way about 50% of the time when the posting job was taken down), and the dar posts popping out, we found this thread! Well, this morning we just finished posting her ears following the afore mentioned technique to a "T" with the exception of also sandwiching each tip between two pieces of tape, so that the tip doesn't round with the post, I think we are pleased with the outcome. See pic below!
The only concern I had was that if we leave her with this new posting job for the week, and then take her posting job down, if she is carrying her ears with the new posting job like this: \_/ will her ears stay that way when she is unposed and then just pull into: |_| when alert? With this new posting job, even when alert she is still: \_/ and barely pulling them into: |_| when alert. I'm concerned with how young she is and not using a bridge right now - Do you recommend that I use a tongue depressor as a bridge with this technique as well so that I can at least try and maintain her more |_| for more of the time or will she be OK? I was kind of thinking that I should leave her this way and just re-assess her un-posted in a week and see where she is at. I know we have a long road ahead, I am just trying to alleviate any issues early instead of when it's more difficult to do so later. What do you experienced folks think? I have posted a few pics just because I'm not so eloquent with my words! Thanks for all the help!
