Hi all, I live in the northern NJ area. My husband and I own a 10 month old female Dobie that is in need of a new home. I am pregnant and just found out it's twins!!! We already have a dog that we have had for years and after long discussion, we realize two babies and two dogs will just be too much for us.

Mimi is already spayed and up to date in shots. We are looking for a great home for her with a new family that will love and take good care of her. If you are interested please send me a message with your contact info so that we may talk further.

Is there a reputable rescue in your area? I would suggest working with a rescue to place her.

Or maybe her breeder has a clause in the contract that states you have to bring her back?

The breeder doesn't want her back. I don't think he's very professional, he never even gave us any contract or stated that we had to have her fixed, we chose to do that. I will check to see about Dobie rescues in my area to work with. Thanks for the suggestions.

Who was your breeder? if you don't mind me asking.

Try a doberman specific rescue and please avoid putting adds up on craigslist and such.

I will have to get that info from my husband, he is the one who found them.

Believe me I have no interest in posting on CL...I've only found two doberman forum/websites that I will post on. This being one of them, thanks.

Names of any recommended doberman rescues would be appreciated. We are moving in 3 weeks and would like to have a home lined up for her by then.

Just two off the top of my head.

The only reason I ask is because if your breeder is not willing to take back one of their pups and failed to sign any contract and such and are not being helpful in your situation (which all breeders have to consider the off chance of a placement not going right for whatever reason) most of the time they will take a pup/dog back and find it a new home.

If your breeder is in face a greeder who just breeds for money and sells to the uneducated public then those researching breeders on the internet should be warned of this breeder in an attempt to stop the back yard breeding practices. Just MHO

Anyway, contact these rescues. I have spoken to DDR personally and they are incredibly helpful. Doberman specific rescues know the breed and will place her in a loving home and take care of her in the mean time. Many have long waiting lists of good people who are looking to rescue and have been pre screened.

Let me see what I can do. What can you tell me about her temperement? GOod with other dogs, cats, people? (not a big deal if not) Also curious which breeder, If you're not comfortable sharing publicly please send me a private message. If you don't want it shared, you have my word it won't be. I am new to the group. We live in South Jersey on 6 + acres. We lost our 12 yr old Doberman last Fall, after a long struggle with Lupus complications. We are ready to open our home and hearts again to another special girl. She would have to be a fit with our other 3 dogs and 2 cats.

Well, we never heard back from the OP, and she stopped responding to my emails, so I'm going to assume they either had a change of heart, or already sold/rehomed.
