I did show up, and "someone" responded once to my email.
I'm sure if there is a system, someone has figured out a way to game it. |
How frustrating! |

| I got this email back tonight, from the NYC Animal Care and Control, Manhattan
timestamped, 3 hours before I started my trip in to visit. - They knew nothing about this status info, at the front desk after I'd been signed in and waiting almost an hour.
"We just did a behavior assessment on Pancho, and he showed some concerning signs. He rushed towards our helper dog, trying to bite. We feel that is it is best for Poncho to be placed with one of our New Hope Partners, so they can work on his issues. For more information on New Hope see Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) : Programs & Services | New Hope. "
I'm somewhat suspicious, because all the other "insider" info I'm getting points to this dog being excellent with other animals, well cared for and confident. |

Ugh, that is horrible and frustrating (and contradicts what the Facebook page said about him, anyway). If he's with New Hope, does that mean he's no longer on "death row"?

| I think so, I did email, continuing to express interest, to see where the dog is, but havent heard back. Its NYC, I'm almost certain, someone goes around and has made sure that they get first priority, on any very good condition strays.
Why would a rescue group send transport 5-6 hrs away, to find the dog isnt even there. |

| An email from the shelter, just now. asking to give them a few days, and they will pass on my info to the remedial/foster group for the next steps. -
so that is a positive, and responsive step in the right direction. |

| According to the recently updated (one hour ago) website, Pancho has been adopted. While I'm happy he's out of the shelter,, I can't help but wonder by whom and where he is right now.
Hope it all works out, he has been on my mind for days..so much so, I was ready to take a trek into Manhattan to check on him.
Christine.
On a side note, I saw an add in my local Long Island Newsday about Marienburg Line Dobe pups, Champ Background 16 weeks. $700.00 or best offer & MUST GO DUE TO ILLNESS.
SO many red flags about that add, I can't imagine what those pups are being subject to. |

| Just wanted to let everyone know Pancho is with a foster home in PA or will be there today or tomorrow. I got involved by accident. A friend of mine who does fostering on her own posted on FB that she was getting another foster this week. And, when she posted the picture and name "the light bulb in my head went on" and I rechecked this thread. Going to PM the person who was interested and let them know where he is and the information if they are still interested.
