[QUOTE=Lighthearted_Horse;798980]WARNING: SERIOUS ADOPTERS ONLY Since most of the members on DT are very "serious" about Dobermans, you may have a good chance of finding Lola a safe, loving and forever home. If you are wishin' and hopin' someone will let you have a dog MOVE ON- I'm not sure what exactly you mean by this. Are you trying to say that Lola isn't FREE and that she is FOR SALE?. I am not wasting my time with people who do not have stable living situations or write me one or two sentences. You may want to reword this sentence. First of all, DT is NOT Craigslist. If a DT member was interested in Lola, I can guarantee they would have many questions for you that would amount to way more than 1 or 2 sentences. I'd also change my "tone" if I was you. What you are trying to say could be conveyed in a much nicer way.I will not repy to e-mails that are one paragraph or less!! The exclamation marks really aren't necessary here. In your e-mail please specify your type of household, yours work hours, who will be responsible for her health and well-being, other pets and people in household, why you want her, why you think you should be the one to adopt her, and who your veterinarian is along with contact information. I will e-mail you with a questionnaire. You are asking for allot of good information, but I'm curious, what does your questionnaire consist of?
About Lola: 1 yo female (spayed) fawn colored Doberman. Fawn is a dilute of the red color (she literally is the color of a deer).
Amazing dog! House trained, knows basic commands (sit, lay down, NO, Do you need to go outside?) Loves to lie around and cuddle or go outside to play...loves to run....NEEDS a home with a fenced in yard or lots of acreage (NO busy roads!!). She would be a wonderful service dog if someone continued her training. Does not jump up on humans EVER and plays gently with other dogs. Good with other pets.
Lola sounds absolutely lovely and like a fantastic dog. Why on earth would you ever want to "adopt" her to someone else?
Shots/Adoption Fee: Is currently UTD on all shots and de-worming. Comes with clothes, toys, bed, crate, collar/leashes, and some food. She is licensed. Write me for more information/Adoption fee $300 due to the fact that I want to ensure a new family with good intent and financial stability AND she comes with over 200$ worth of toys and other accessories. I may also choose to do a background check. I will consider a lesser adoption fee for the dog only.
It is great that Lola is UTD on all of her vaccinations and that she is spayed. I do not understand what you mean by " I will consider a lesser adoption fee for the dog only." I have to tell you, $300.00 is a pretty high "adoption" fee, especially in this economy. If you truly love Lola and want what’s best for her, you won't put a price tag on her. Your main goal should be finding her a safe and loving home. Please know that just because someone would be willing to pay for her does not mean that it would ensure anything. It also doesn’t mean that someone is financially stable if they were willing to pay $300.00 for her. IMO, its not going to be easy to find an EXCELLENT home for her when trying to obtain a $300.00 "adoption fee" for her regardless of what toys and accessories you are willing to include.
Here is what it basically comes down to: FIRST AND FOREMOST, you should be willing to do EVERYTHING you can to keep Lola. Like I said, she sounds like a FANTASTIC dog. There are HUNDREDS of Dobermans available for adoption all over the country. Rescues are filled to capacity and the sad fact is that there just aren't enough good homes for all of the dogs that need them. Now if you aren't willing to do this, then I have 2 pieces of advice for you. You should either contact your local Doberman rescue and ask for their assistance in finding Lola a safe and loving home and change the ad (yes, it was an ad that you placed here for her) that you posted her on DT into a "Looking for a loving home for Lola" thread. DT is a fabulous resource for education and help and many Dobermans have found fantastic homes after a thread was started for them in the rescue section, but those who found homes weren't FOR SALE. There may be someone on this forum or someone who knows of someone who would love to give a dog like Lola a home, but they aren't going to pay $300.00 for her. You have to understand that someone looking for a Doberman could adopt from a Reputable rescue, for the same price or less. The difference between "adopting" from you as opposed to a rescue would be that the adoption fee would help other Dobermans in need and that the adopter would have the support of a formal rescue for Lola's entire life- that in itself is priceless.
Sadly I cannot keep her due to the fact that I work too many hours and she is not getting nearly enough attention!
This statement is very sad and a copout. If you wanted to, you could make time for her. There are 24 hours in a day. Perhaps you need to learn to budget your time better.
I am looking for a FOREVER home.
So is Lola
