| SURREY, B.C. 5 month old female blk/tan A young woman called the BCDPC looking to re-home a 5 month old female dobe a few weeks back. She said her father had a stroke and they couldn’t keep her. The club let me know about her and I went to see her last night. I am absolutely heartbroken after seeing this poor girl.
She was in horrible condition both physically and emotionally. Nervous, panicky, tucking her hindquarters under in complete fear. Once I got her to come close I went over her from head to toe. She had a strange circular sore on the top of her head…looks like someone put a cigarette out on her. The father said she hit it on something. Her teeth were a mess and her coat is dry, brittle and coarse. Has not had good nutrition, never been socialized, never had a bath, that was all obvious.
I worry now that they might just dump her as they don’t strike me as the kind of people who will pay the fees to relinquish her to the SPCA. I can’t take her with my young Doxie, but am willing to work with her if anyone has any suggestions. She really is a very pretty girl. Hate to leave her with these people as she could be a nice dog in the right hands.
June 23rd***Update: We got Sasha away from her "owners" and she is now in foster care. I have included some more pics below. She requires major medical attention and complete emotional rehabilitation. She has been severely neglected and maltreated, but is already coming around. The BCDPC isn't doing rescue right now, but Dobekiss (another DT member) has taken her into her home. A Better Life Dog Rescue is generously paying for all her vet bills. Thanks to both of them, Sasha has a chance for a new life.
July 4th: Please see Rainbow bridge. RIP Sweet Sasha

| Hey I'm in Surrey too, and if its alright I'd like to know the address of this place so I can go meet her with my Dobe. Mines a 3 month old red female Dobe. If it'll be possible I wouldn't mind taking the other Dobe for walks and stuff. "A Friend in need is a friend indeed." Harp Chahal. Sorry to hear about this. |

| Although this sounds wonderful Makaveli, this dog would not be suitable as a companion for an existing pet right now. She needs one on one attention, rehabilitation and an evaluation before she could be placed her in a home with another dog. Thank you so much for your interest and offer to help, however, it is very much appreciated.

| Oh okay, no problem. If you ever need anyone to walk her and stuff or anything just let me know and I'll let you know as well cuz I'm out of school now and am free. Good luck to you and very nice of you to take her in. |

| That is so sad, maybe the local rescue can take her. I am sure DLS can possibly help someway. Good luck, if I were closer I would love to help out. |

| juljules and Dobekiss have both stepped up and taken her into their lives. Dobekiss is fostering her and juljules has paid for her Vet bill. Thanks to both of them for doing this, all for the love of this breed. juljules is keeping me informed as to the Dobergirls progress. So one of us will keep everyone updated on this situation. |

| I am so, so happy to hear this! Dobiekiess & juljules are angels, and bless them for taking her away from that horrible situation. Her head as an ashtray!?!? (Shaking head and eyes watering up). Unbelievable.
Please, I hope either of them can keep us posted on her condition. She looks just like my lil' Nissa-girl...sweet & loving. |
