| Thanks for an update...I feel really bad for this girl, but also glad that you guys took her out of a horrible situation.
She's very young, I wonder what caused her vison to get bad so quickly?
Thanks for taking care of this girl! |

Here is a photo of Sasha just home from the Vets and her foster Mom Dobekiss! | I'm so HAPPY that she's comfortable and feels safe enough that she can finally sleep, knowing she can trust that her caretakers will never hurt her. Oh God, how could anyone have ever mistreated her... It just breaks my heart. Quote:

You know... I remember an ad on Kijiji Vancouver from last fall (around the end of September), for a 14 week old Dobergirl. It read something like, "Great start with this little girl... she's very smart and learning fast... " and so on, I can't remember the whole thing, but the ad gave me a strange vibe at the time, strange enough that I still remember this particular ad. It was up for quite some time and posted more than once, as if no one was scoopin' her up. Sasha at 11 months now would be about the same age as that solo little girl pup for sale last fall... it may very well be her... At the time, I was looking for a Dobe in all the wrong places (i.e. Kijiji), but the only reason I didn't inquire about that puppy is because I was looking for a boy...
Wherever Sasha came from though, I'm glad she's NOT THERE NOW.

| Interesting about that Kijii ad Megs. Sasha could have been that very pup. The plot thickens…
I played private eye all morning while I was doggie sitting Sasha yesterday. Wanted to find out as much as I could so we could get a better handle on how to care for her. Also want to hold these people accountable for her deplorable condition.
The only lead I got from the “owners” when we picked her up at a Tim Horton’s parking lot was the name of a vet clinic they used. Sasha was not filed under the name they gave me (no surprise). It was the sore on the top of her head that identified her, along with her name and breed.
After telling them of my concerns, they advised me that these people do have other dogs, Dobermans and who knows what else. Sasha's bad eyesight, fur in her stools, her poor physical condition, not being spayed, etc. I now suspect they might be byb's and that Sasha's anxiety stems from having to fend for herself with multiple dogs in a kennel environment.
I called the Surrey SPCA and filed a cruelty investigation with them. Hopefully, they will follow up. Putting the puzzle together piece by piece. |
