| Leaving my baby boy for the first time... I leave for Florida for a week tomorrow, so Mariano is going to stay with his breeder for a couple days, a few days home with daddy, and then he is going to stay with a littermate for the rest of my trip.
I have never even gone away overnight without him, and I am starting to get really anxious. I trust everyone he is staying with, but I am going to miss my boy! He is only 8 months old, and he is VERY attached to me.
How do you deal with being away from your babies, and do they get upset? I am so so so anxious....

| I haven't left Murphy for that long, but my SO has, and it was as though nothing had even happened. He did greet him a little longer and was extremely excited to see him, but he wasn't all moppy and whiney while he was gone, like he is when the SO goes to the washroom. |

| Mariano will have a blast of a time and you will be the one sad and worrying Just make sure you call your breeder at least 50x a day to make sure Mo is ok and doing well |

| I think it's really good for dogs to spend time somewhere else. It teaches them some independence from you and they learn that they can have fun somewhere else and that you'll come back. You will almost certainly be way more stressed about it than he is!
We just left Richter for 2 weeks for vacation. He was boarded at someone's home. When we went to pick him up he was like, "Oh hi, glad you're back but I'm playing right now so I'm going to ignore you." He had a great time and wasn't stressed at all.

| I left Rogue for the first time this weekend. She stayed home with her dad and I took Diesel to visit my parents. I would've brought Rogue with me too this weekend but that would've put us at 3 dogs in one house. I think my mom would've lost it From what I heard she really enjoyed being the only child. We FaceTimed one night and she was like "whatever I'm snuggling with dad."
My SO did say that she laid by the door and cried for a few minutes when we first left but then she got over it. Just don't make a big deal about leaving. Now I will say I have never left Diesel. He always comes with me when I go out of town. I've never needed to leave him home so I guess that's probably why. I really don't go anywhere that my dogs can't come because I miss them too much but I do know that both of them would be completely fine if I needed to.
You'll be fine and so will he. He's going to have a blast going to different places. You can always call and check in and when you get back it will be a great feeling seeing him again I agree with MeadowCat, it's good for them to get some space from you. Rogue is very attached to me so it was good for her to spend time by herself and she loved it. Diesel is even more attached to me but he knows I'll always come back so he doesn't panic when I leave. I think it will be a good milestone for Mariano.
Have a nice trip!

| So Mariano had a blast with his breeder this weekend... he had a playdate with 5 of his littermates, and got to run in the fields along side the fence with the horses.
My SO picked him up early Monday morning. Eric said he was SO happy to see him, but kept looking around like he was looking for me. He then apparently forgot all manors and rules for daddy Monday and Tuesday, and they had a pretty interesting two days without me lol.
He was picked up by his littermate's dad last night, and he is staying with them until Monday morning, and is living the life apparently. They did another big playdate this morning, and the guy actually took today off of work to stay home with the pups. I talked to him a little on speakerphone, and he started to get a little ancy, and I felt bad, so I stopped.
He is having so much fun, and only cries at night, because he has to sleep in the crate, and not on his bed next to me. I miss him like crazy!!!
Went to visit his 10 week old nephew who happened to go to a home here in Tampa, and he was so much like my boy, I nearly cried lol.
His current sitter is sending me basically a new pic every hour, and it is helping a bit lol...
Thank you all for your stories and well wishes!

| So we made it through, and we are now home together. I have never had anyone so excited to see me, and it was the best feeling! I almost cried because he was SO HAPPY to see me come through that door. He lost some of his manners apparently, but he is quickly learning he should remember them lol.
I have come to the realization that home is where your doberman is =]

| That's good to know!
I separated from Elza only for one night when she had a surgery. The following day the vet called me to pick her up because she was so annoying(lol).
I've been keeping my eye open to look for a good boarding place for the future. There are many "pet hotels" which simply crate dogs all day and I don't like it since Elza spends her day walking freely in the house.

| Leaving my baby boy for the first time... I just came home from a short trip to Arkansas. I left Friday and came home Monday, but I had to leave my baby Kiyan. I know Capone would be fine as I have left him before, but my little "new" girl had me terrified. They luckily stayed at home with the husband, but still. I came home Monday to find her top canines are 1/2 way in and her babies are holding strong, but about to give up. I was shocked. They both missed me, but alone time with daddy is always good too.
I am so happy my husband got an iPhone cause he let me FaceTime with the babies. It was adorable to see them and talk to them so that really helped me feel better.
