| Has your Dobe ever lied to you? Hades once lied to me about who chewed up the toilet paper roll... He said it must have been Snoop or the cat because he would NEVER do anything like that. Funny nothing like that ever happened until I got him. Sent from Petguide.com Free App

| The dog AND the cats do this to me all the time.
Hubby sometimes feeds them and leaves for work before I get home from work, but when I come in the door, they all act as though they are starved to death and haven't been fed all day. A few times I just figured they hadn't been fed so I feed them all again.
Manipulative little beggers...

Manipulative little beggers... | Wait until your kid does it too. Mine has told people I don't feed her, so she gets food.
Trinket is apologetically sneaky and has no guilt. The other day she licked my husband's hot dog right before he took a bite, then tried to happily guilt him into giving it to her.
And then Thor tells on himself. If he gets a piece of fluff or squeaker in his mouth, he come to me and tattles on himself. Gets right by my face, with big sad eyes, and does this slow chomping/gulping thing until I take it out.
Here is is, tattling on himself because he stole the puppies' toy, which he knew he wasn't supposed to do.
Then he tried to hide from them by me. Except we were all penned in the kitchen, and they quickly found him.

| Elka lies about whether she needs to go out.
Say, when the fireworks were going off and I knew her to be empty, when I told her "It's okay, leave it" regarding the noise, she looked at me and said "Out" so that she could go outside and investigate. We call it "pee lies" in my house |

I don't let him have snoops toys bc he shreds then whereas snoop just wants to cuddle his toys like a good mother hen. He'll grab the hedgehog then pace the house, ears flat, head down and whine until I take it away. He ALWAYS tells on himself when it comes to Snoops toys. Funny thing is I finally let him have one of snoops toys (a stuffed, crinkle newspaper) he refuses to shred it. He's shred all his other toys. Silly pups! Sent from Petguide.com Free App

| I'm not so worried about Jasmine lying, but I'm convinced the two cats (that used to hate each other until I brought home Jasmine, and now I find them laying together or sitting next to each other in an undisclosed location) are plotting something.
Someone mysteriously chewed though one side of the first easy-walk harness bought for Jasmine. It was laying near Jasmine's toy bin in the morning. Jasmine took the blame for that one. I then bought her another easy-walk harness and tried to always keep it hanging on the coat rack. I took Jasmine out to potty late one night and sleepily just took it off her and laid it next to my bed. I turned out the light, etc. A few minutes later, I heard a kitty creeping around in my room, and this is what I saw...........!!
BUSTED!!
Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/IMG]
I don't think she was even sorry...
Jasmine did lie one time though. She told me that she was just having a "conversion" with her stuffed animals, and that there was "nothing to see here." Then I walked in to a double stuffed animal homicide crime scene....

When I asked Jasmine if she did it, she said no....

...but the evidence would suggest otherwise... (btw-she doesn't eat the stuffing, but sometimes it gets stuck to her whiskers)

| "Mom! I need to go outside--really BAD! I know it's 3 AM, but I'm agonna BURST if you don't get up and LET ME OUT!"
Mom sleepily staggers downstairs and opens the door. Dog (it doesn't matter which dog; they all do this) dashes to the door.
"AAHHH! It's snowing (raining, windy) outside! Maybe I don't have to go after all."
And back to bed it is.
Maybe the claim of not having to go is the truth, because dog then sleeps 'til 10:00 AM without once having to cross his/her legs.
"Mom, there's some deer outside.
I promise I'll be good, no charging the fence, no barking, no threatening to jump the fence; I'll just WATCH."
Hardly a believable lie when dog is DANCING and quivering ALL OVER.

Skoll tattles on himself as well! No need to worry about him lying though the cat likes to frame the other animals for things on occasion. I always know if Skoll has something he shouldn't because he'll slowly slink up to me with ears back, head dropped, nub tucked... and it takes me longer to convince him that I'm not angry than it does for me to get the item back.
"Sorry da, stole your hat off the rack, you can have it back please don't be upset"
Saffron on the other hand used to frame Mocha for stealing food off the counters. Saff would steal it and drag it onto the floor, then Mocha would pester her into sharing until the cat ran off and we discovered MOCHA eating the stolen food. Of course MOCHA was always in trouble for it until the one day we caught her in the act of stealing it from the CAT!

| Toby hasn't stolen shoes or slippers for ages.
He used to do this as a pup, running outside with them and dumping them in the compound for us to go find, (not easy when you only have one shoe on I can tell you), but all this stopped about a year ago.
That was until we adopted Reina, our designer mutt, (pointer/labrador). Suddenly, shoes, slippers and toys (inside toys) have all started to find their way outside. Of course we looked at Toby and at Reina, and well seeing as Toby hasn't done it for over a year we thought we must have a shoe napper in the form of our new addition.
Toby even told us it was her, because one day when we were looking for my sons shoe he ran up to us, ran to her then ran to the shoe, then to her, skidding to a stop in front of us as if to say. 'I showed you who did it and where it is, now go tell her.'
Well of course we asked her if she had taken it and being she is as thick as 2 short planks she just stood there wagging her tail.
So we set up an experiment. We left out a pair of shoes, a pair of shoes that had a sprinkling of talcum powder on the inside.
The culprit was caught red handed, or at least white mushed. Toby had the talc on his face but Reina did not.
But do you know, he still tried to blame her.
Sneaky damn Dobermans. |

| Both of my dogs lie! They blame everything on "Bob" the boyfriend. |

| My little girl, Ripley, couldn't lie if her life depended on it! I know the second I walk through the door because she is sitting there, looking at me with her eyes almost shut, shaking! I will walk through the house and in every room ask her if the mischief happen there. When she starts shaking uncontrollably with her ears flatten to her head, I know something is up in that room. It's normally the spare bedroom. She knows she's not suppose to go in there because that's the cats safe place. |

| Oh guys, I am such a bad mommy, there was I blaming my poor, poor Doberman for stealing shoes, for trying to dob his new sister in...
And she is just as guilty. If not more so.
She was caught red pawed, shoe in mouth, running like crazy outside to dump it down.
Didnt take her long to learn that getting Toby into trouble is fun did it? |

Didnt take her long to learn that getting Toby into trouble is fun did it? | Sounds like you need to teach them both "bring it here!" so you can get your shoes back
(granted, I don't always get the specific shoes I've asked for....or both shoes from one pair...it's a work in progress) |

Didnt take her long to learn that getting Toby into trouble is fun did it? | That's what you get for saying she is as thick as 2 short planks. It's the Labrador in her. Labs, (well bred ones, not BYB ones, I joke that I was a lab "snob" lol) were my breed before getting Bruce. They are really good at appearing to be dumb as a stump when really they are pretty smart. I can only imagine what they are like when crossed with a pointer though lol. I bet she's a pretty girl (and full of energy I'm sure!) |
