| Our vet did a full check up with her when we first got her. Better safe then sorry even thought she was from a rescue i was worried about kennel cough and things like that clean bill of health but i am looking into another vet. Ours didnt know much to tell us on the breed and what health issues dobbies are known to get and DOES NOT have any other Dobbie patients. Which i found really hard to believe but then again i havent really seen any other dobbies in our area. My boyfriend is not a fan of finding another vet mainly because he brought his older dog soulely to that vets office before he passes and has brought Hudson to only him. But i am worried about the vet not knowing much of the breed threw me off just a little. |

| I completely get why you're searching for another vet and I probably would too - you're not crazy, lol. When I moved to where I am now I went to ask the vet clinics and asked them what experience they had with large dogs and the specific breed until I found one that I was happy with.

| It might be worth a call to some dobe breeders in your area, if you have any good ones, to see what vet they recommend. That's how I found my girl's vet and I love them.
Your little girl is stinking adorable. Thank you for rescuing and welcome from TX! |

| Well heather00102 - mommy mode is indead exciting (congrats), and Miley is a sweet doll. Nice to see Hudson likes the furbaby to.
No surprise Miley girl sticks to you like glue, they are a needy breed for owners love & affection...they live for our attention, to stay happy.
Sounds like Miley has a similar temperment as my last girl, that was an excellent therapy dog, (certified in Ontario) for hospital and nursing home visits. As Miley is so loving and already aware of being more gently with senior people, sounds like a great ambassator for therapy work, when she matures. Enjoy her and plant xoxoxo from Canada.
PS - there is one right way to put on a choke chain. Photo in your post #9 made be wonder if the choke chain is on backwards...(??)
- something to check

| Congratulations! My doberman, Jasmine, is 11 months old and she is also my first doberman. From my experience, dobermans are NOTHING like how they are portrayed.
As I'm sure many have already included this in their post by now, but they are "velcro" dogs. They don't like to be alone, and want to be near you (touching you) at all times. They're highly intelligent, and high energy. They need a LOT of exercise! They like mental games and physical games. When I take Jasmine to the park, I bring her Kong Wubba, and most recently I've begun to do some tracking work as well.
Jasmine has natural ears, but her tail is docked. I rescued her from a local humane society (her story is that someone paid a great deal of money for her from a breeder with all the paperwork blah blah blah....but at 9 months decided she was too much to handle, so they surrendered her, but I'm glad they did because I love her to pieces!) at 9 1/2 months, so it was too late to have her ears done. I like the ears both ways, and wouldn't have been opposed to having her ears cropped if I had gotten her at the right time, but I do love the floppy ears too! When she runs fast they just flop away, and it's so cute!!
Congrats again!! I've found this forum to be extremely helpful! |

I love my doberbrats, even the floppy ears, even though he looks so silly if they both flip over lol! | I know exactly what you mean by how they look silly if both ears flop over. It cracks me everytime! My dobergirl Jasmine has natural ears.
