Talking Dog Tattletales - Sibling Betrayal

So, my doberman mix rescue pup, Willow, has a habit of raiding trash cans for tissues and paper towels; whether they contain boogers or bits of food/grease doesn't seem to matter to her. She just enjoys the process of shredding and partially consuming them.

Well, my other dog, Lazlo the beagle mix, responds to her transgressions in the most amusing way: He runs over by me and either tucks himself next to my legs or over my feet, or sits with his back in a corner of the room -- the corner closest to me, generally. Right where I can see him.

I believe he does this because he understands that pulling stuff out of the garbage is unacceptable behavior. He just doesn't know where he should be or what he should do when she does it. I'm not going to try to guess what is going on in his head beyond possibly trying to distance himself from the problem, but the result is I always know when Willow has gotten into something.

Anyone else have a tattletale pup?

ETA: I don't hit my dogs, but they get a loud "EH-eh!" or a shake of the coin can if I catch them doing something they shouldn't be...And Lazlo is pretty sensitive to sound.

Roman Groom: Yeah, and he's not too fond of you. What's wrong with robots?
The Doctor: It's not the robots, it's the people. Dressing them up and giving them silly voices. You're reducing them.
Roman Groom: Yeah. Friend of mine, she made her domestic robot look like a dog.
The Doctor: Ah, well, dogs. That's different.

Yes! My husky would "tell on" my boyfriends parents dog all the time! They don't want to be blamed for the others bad behaviors.

An old post from 2009--not quite the situation you describe, but close..............

"Scenario: Kip is lying at my feet, chillin'. Capri comes prancing in, doing the
proud puppy dance, carrying one of my tennis shoes by the laces and swinging it around.

Me, nicely, "Capri-ee, that's not yours."

Capri bounces over to Kip, lays the shoe down between his front legs, and heads off.

Did she just FRAME him?? Are they THAT smart??"

I love doggie tattletales. They are so funny!

My little border terrier, Mona, will always come and stare at me with this tragic "Can you BELIEVE what they are doing?" look on her face when the other dogs are naughty. I love it when the other dogs are barking out the window like wild banshees. Her look just screams, "They are SO bad and I am SO good!" She is a little naughty herself, so she's not as good as she thinks she is!

Nice!

Lazlo is not an angel, either, but he has not been destructive in any way since he was a puppy. He is, however, prone to baying at any movement outside, even if it's just a rabbit or a person walking their dog.

He doesn't sulk near me if Willow barks, only if she's shredding or chewing something that she isn't supposed to.

LOL! When Sully was here, he would sometimes grab things he shouldnt.
So when I would catch him, I would say "Sully! Drop it!" he did, but that wasn't good enough for Saph.
She would then go grab it and bring it to me! LOL
I thought it was just a fluke, but she did it more than once.
It was like she was saying "here, i got it for you. I told him he couldnt have it"

Sharly - good one. ^^^^ Video Animal Clip Of The Week Owner Asks Her Dogs, 'Who Made This Mess ' .

Reminds me of time babysitting 2 YorkiePoo's and coming back from a restraunt, there little heads were looking down at the oak hardwood floor.
Former Amy's ears are back while she is laying on the leather chair...the dobe is saying, "the little shits (dogs) have some explaning to do / Dad will know it wasn't me"...LOL...than Dad's says, "who did this" and O'h the sad faces, from the pair.
