Blizzard Dog Photodump

The day after Christmas, we had a big blizzard here. Got snowed in for a good long while, and it was the younger two dogs' first real snow, as last year we didn't get more than maybe half an inch all winter. I'd had my very first DSLR for -24 hours, so I was bundled up first thing in the morning, in a blizzard, trying out my camera. The photo quality is nothing to write home about because I'd barely gotten the hang of the camera and am between editing programs, but who doesn't love snowy dogs?

Even Violet, a snow veteran, was wary when I opened the back door.

Much to my amazement, Java loves snow. He will not even come in without food bribery.

Natalie and I went to check on my husband digging out out front sidewalk.

Java had some blizzard fun with my MIL's chihuahua/dachshund mix, also. Does he not look like some kind of snow demon rising from the depths here? Oh my.

Guess who rules the roost around here.

We took the dogs for a walk in the middle of it. The snow was up to our knees sometimes, and it was so surreal how empty the roads of the subdivision were.

My little snowdog.

Beautiful pics, but not a fan of that weather. It's been in the low 60's here during the day and I'm freezing. It's a good thing they like it.

The snow dog, I like to capture for each of my dobes now...when the snow is a little wet and packfull....I think the clear paw prints are always neat.
