| Roxy helping college students I just received an email from Therapy Dogs Inc letting me know about a project starting at the University of Central Florida. The contact person is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor on the campus and has started a project called "Paws-a-tively". The program is intended to use animal-assisted activities to reduce the stigma associated with mental health services, and to appeal to students who may not have been to the Counseling Center before. She has scheduled 3 events to help students. One will be “Paws-a-tively Ready” at the beginning of the semester. It will be an opportunity for students to come interact with the dogs to get energized and ready for the new semester. The next event will be “Paws-a-tively You” it will be an event held during Eating Disorder Awareness week. They want to collaborate with therapists who are doing outreach to promote healthy body image and self-esteem. The third event will be “Paws-a-tively Stress Free” an event during finals. Students can come interact with the dogs to de-stress during finals.
I am excited to bring Roxy and interact with the college students.
