| Look what I found today...
Isn't he nice? He's a hand painted John Beswick porcelin Dobermann, modelled on UK CH Annastock Lance. I found him today in an antiques warehouse we visit for furniture. The picture doesn't do him a lot of justice, and he needs a bit of a clean.
They also made a sitting one which I've been keeping an eye out for. Ive got to find somewhere to put him in the mean time |

I have 5 cabinets in my house, stuffed to the gunnels as they say with ornaments that in some cases date back to the 1700's.
Thus far however I have resisted the temptation to buy anything Doberman to put in them. My hubby is convinced I am scatty enough about Dobes, (I bought Jammies for heavens sake) without adding a few to our ornament collection so for now I think I will just have to leave it be and let him get used to the real mc'coy as they say.
Not wishing to pry, but I wouldn't have thought you got him for a fiver either (max my hubby thinks any ornament should cost, lol). So put him somewhere safe and out of a certain Dobes reach.

My other half is the WORST for collecting bits, and I'm the opposite I like a minimalist house. When I moved in, it was almost 'Thats going...that's going...that's going...THATS definitely going!' He is very impulsive and will buy lots of cute little things, though we don't have many places to put them (or that I'll let him put them!) he would fill every fireplace mantle piece if I let him. Same with art, we have very little wall space left and he still emails me at ork 'Check this out, isn't this nice?'
I don't have much dobe stuff at all, I fact this is my only dobe ornament. I was thinking of putting it in an area with all our rosettes and cups with a framed picture of rupert, but OH says it needs to be in one of the spare rooms!
We tend to acquire quite a few stag things...
Rupert is actually very good at not knocking things, it's this darn cat which is trying to mess things up LOL |

| Nice find. I have a black/rust Royal Doulton Doberman, a Lenox Puppy Doberman, and 2 other unknown maker Doberman figures. I love the Royal Doulton. Got it an off sit auction I worked at for my former employer. There also was a red/rust one but I had already spent my limit and my whole pay check for that day!

| Oh neat!
I have a glass collection that I started when I was little. I haven't added to it in quite awhile, but thinking back (it's packed away just now), I don't think I have any Dobermans. My dad got me a German Shepherd figure (larger than that, more resin) and told me that it was named King. Because that's what German Shepherds are named |

| I had a great-aunt and uncle who collected Royal Doulton figurines. They gave me a Palomino Beswick Pottery foal for my 5th birthay. Forty-three years later, he is tucked up on the top shelf of my china cabinet, as safe as I can keep him (short of a safe deposit box) from cats and kids.

| I like it, I have some Beswick stuff, they are pigs. A band of pigs, they are all playing an instrument, they all have names. The little pig with the triangle is named James. There is about 10 of them. I'm afraid to start buying any dober stuff, it may take over like the pigs have.
