| Hanging by the neck! As we sat down to dinner this evening Toby like a good boy took himself off to bed, which just happened to be my bed on which I have a mosquito net which he shuffles under to get onto the bed itself.
During the meal we heard Toby bark, nothing unusual in that, he does occasionally buff at things so we ignored him and continued to eat.
After dinner I went into my bedroom to go to my bathroom and found Toby caught up in my mosquito net, by caught up I mean he was hanging by the neck.
OH MY GOD!
It was so tight around his neck, he couldnt move.
I literally had to tear it to get it off him. He was so scared, the bloody thing was choking him.
I know this sounds like I am being hysterical but hell in a basket if I hadnt gone in when I had he could have died.
Thankfully he is okay, when I released him he went all silly and couldnt say thank you enough, he then ran out of the bedroom and is now sat on the sofa with me.
Hug your babies guys and keep your eyes on them at all times.

| He is going to be a bit paranoid of that net now surely!
Id just make double sure that it was up and out the way when not in use as its clear now that there is a potential horror accident possible |

Never fear I am going to make sure it is tied up from now on. |

| Omg, how scary! I'm so glad he's ok.
My sister had a similar freakish experience when her puppy was five months old. She was talking to a friend at the door and needed to retrieve something from the kitchen. When she got there she found the puppy suffocating in a potato chip bag. He had wet himself and had just gone limp when she got to him. Luckily, he came too as soon as she pulled it off. |

Thing is, if I hadnt gone to the loo and your sister hadnt gone into the kitchen we could have both lost our dogs through a freak accident. Angels. |

| This happened recently with my cat, and I'm so glad she has a breakaway collar. Somehow her collar got caught on the railing to the steps and she, flailing to get free, tumbled over the side. Was suspended in the air for a second by her collar before it gave and she landed on her feet on the floor below. I cuddled her long and hard afterward. I was even there, just wasn't able to get across the room before she went over.
Glad to hear Toby is okay. Such things are so scary.

| This morning Toby asked to come into our bedroom for his morning cuddle but on seeing the net down he shot out of our bedroom like his nubbins was on fire.
We rolled it up and let him see it was gone, that it couldnt hurt him but still he was not happy.
Eventually I just got up and we came in the living room to have a cup of hot chocolate together and chill out here.
I think it will be a long time before he ever goes near something like a mosquito net ever again. |

| Bless his little heart, glad to hear he's ok! Thank goodness you got to him in time.
My OH is always saying I'm super paranoid about things which could hurt the dogs, places they could escape, things that they could swallow! That's why when I'm by watching them theyre in the puppy-proofed kitchen, but you never know what could cause an issue! My OH says I'm more cautious about the dogs than most people are about their human babies! |

| I went into the house during playtime - the game was catching a pot suspended in a tree - when I came out my guy had got a creeper wrapped around his neck! It was creeper stems that had grown across the ground between shrubs. He was fine, though, went right on playing after I freed him, but I got a huge fright and felt so irresponsible
You know, I worked at a mining & petrochemicals company who were safety-manic - every meeting began with a safety minute, site safety rules applied at head office, there were quarterly safety briefings company wide.We all became exceptionally safety-conscious about everything - driving, home, office...and then someone cut their eyeball on a piece of paper. Go figure. |
