| Has anyone heard of...? This group called "Just Dobermans" on facebook? It seems to basically be a page for HORRIBLE byb'ers to pawn off puppies. Anyone been on there before? It is disgusting...

| Yes, there is another thread that discusses this group. It IS just a bunch of BYB and BYB supporters, they are so clueless it makes my head spin. A couple of us have joined and have made a few comments in regards to their ridiculous ideas, but we know they won't care or listen. I'm wondering how long before they kick us out for not supporting them Tan colored doberman |

I can't help but fuel the fire while adding in my own two cents.
I can see that a few members are simply there to see pictures and take in advice, but others are scheduling "Puppy Swaps" ( You would have to pry my dog from my cold, dead hands before I traded him for anything in the world! ), you have the weird vizsla mixed doberman and a few pictures of all black dobermans ( the all black in believable at least... the tan looks like a mix), a Snooki wanna be who apparently gave a BYB this suspected mix in exchange for one of the pups from the BYBer's latest litter, and people looking to stud their male all because he is AKC registered!
It really does break my heart at the end of the day (and it is just day 2)

| Been reading that fb page. What a shame. I love where someone asked about a dogs back ground and the owner said as far as I know his back is fine.
And chasing cars???? Don't let the dog loose idiot!! |

| if it was a recent post, I asked if the AKC Blue intact male had any issues
She said he "had been clean"... I really just wanted to respond with this:
"Did you recently give him a bath?"

There is absolutely no way her Doberman weighs 150 lbs without being grossly obese and/or mixed with Great Dane. I've had six Great Danes and none of them have weighed that much. Not only that, but I participate in a ton of Dane rescue events and rarely see Great Danes that weigh 150lbs. If they do weigh that much, their heads come up to about my chest (I'm 5'10, so not short). I would challenge this girl to post a picture at her vets office of her dog and his recorded weight. I would bet my life that the dog doesn't weigh more than 100lb.
The general lack of Doberman knowledge in this group is astounding. One woman claims her friend has a fawn Doberman with a blue head!!!! That's genetically impossible. I can't stand ignorant people.

| I was considering joining but I'm still on the fence. There used to be a huge Doberman community page (80k people, but I think it's gone now) and I got banned for talking about health testing, supporting ethical breeders, and correcting people on some very wrong general information. The admin of the group wanted no arguing and always complained about it so, I think, it got deleted.
So yeah... I'm not sure if I want to waste my effort all over again.

From my experience as a tech (and I'm sure Rou's mom will say the same ), people grossly over estimate their dogs weight ALL the time. I can't tell you how many people would come in bragging about their 150lb rott or golden retriever (yep, heard that one a lot too). Then we weigh the dog, and it's an 80 lb rott, or a 70lb golden retriever. Seriously, so many dogs owners are complete idiots when it comes to how much their dog weighs. It's this mind frame of the biggest and baddest, your dog is nothing special unless it weighs over 100lbs |

I think one was a puppy, the other 2 were breeding age. It's truely heartbreaking. I joined for rescue purposes. Every once in a great while somebody will ask about an older dog or rescue.
They don't want to be educated. I will be surprised if the original poster on that thread does show up here. |

| I highly doubt any of those low lives will actually join much less browse DT, but Shell81 and I promoted it and will continue until we are rejected from this group.
and as Shell81 stated- the ones who are actually 150lbs are the dogs who's owners had no idea "Fuzzy McGee" was so overweight. I have only met 2 dogs over 130lb- both of them Mastiffs, but they have hip issues as well.
Every breed has its struggle.
But the more people join and shove our logic and knowledge in their face the more we advocate for the breed. Those poor dogs!!!

Yep same, the only dogs over 130lbs I've ever seen were Mastiffs, and riddled with health issues too. |

| | Big Dog | Oh, and did she ever say where she got her Dobe? I sooooo want to know.
She posted pics of him and I remember him being very tall and lanky and NOT 150 pounds.
Kimbertal comes to mind. They brag on Kimbertal and Britton as "excellent breeding". |

| I can't take them seriously when they say "u was."
I tried to join but for whatever reason it won't let me. Probably a good thing because I think I would go insane trying to educate them. I like how the lady says she will take a look at DT if she has time when she's on that stupid page constantly.
ETA: Seems to me whenever anyone mentions health testing and titling the post get deleted. |

| It happens with all breeds and even all animals, sadly. Ever heard of the 200lb pit bulls? Titan is 120, GSD/GSP, weighed at the vet... but he is seriously overweight. He's shorter than Skoll who is 95 so he should be roughly the same weight not 25lbs over that!
I do exotics as well and you wouldn't believe how many people try to convince me that their corn snake was 10 feet long. Nevermind that corns stick to 3.5-4.5 and very rarely get up to 6...

| Went on Facebook and read their posts. Can't read it anymore - poor dogs! You will not change most of those people's minds. Alpa rolls, chasing cars, being the alpha, chaining to tree, rainbow colors - it's way too much. I saw some of the posts from members of DT - very good try at educating but don't know if it will change any of those people. Just basic common sense about animal care is missing - don't even want to know how they raise their children. |

| | Alpha | Couldn't help it. Had to join just to throw it out there that the breeder chick doesn't know her breed. That "tan" dog, is not a Doberman.
My guess is either badly bred GP (she is pretty big) or GP/DP mix (which would explain size and color).
