How can fellow Dobe owners seriously mistake my little man as a "Mini Doberman!?" on top of calling his ear crop "The fancy cut" There is no such thing as as a mini doberman and it's a show crop you goon. I actually think Toorc's ears are just a little longer than medium but still.

People these days... I really hope they take my advice and get their boy neutered. Babbling nonsense about breeding and garbage. Some people seriously just shouldn't own Dobermans.

and to relate- do you know how many people call my boy "chocolate"?

"Oh I haven't seen a chocolate one before" as they look at me all starry eyed.

I had an employee at Petco bad mouth myself as an owner because I had my boy's ear's cropped. "I would never do that to my dog", but his favorite breed was Pit bull... I sure hope you wouldn't do it to your future Pit bull!!

And yes the ever classic... "Is he a mini doberman"... I had to combat each time with "THERE IS NO RELATION BETWEEN THE BREEDS AND NO!!!". Probably came off as a snooty so-ad-so but please, take your pajama pants and unkempt hair that fleas like to hide in and slink off back to your tin can... geez.

People... such an interesting group of mindless doofuses!

Lol I've gotten tired of saying there is no such thing as a mini doberman to people. Because he's obviously too big to be a miniature pinscher which is what I am sure they are trying to relate him to.

The people I met today kept complaining about "annoying" habits their boy displays. All the while I just looked perplexed and replied "hmmm how odd" everything they were complaining about were signs that he has pent up energy that needed to be let go. But they chocked it up to being Doberman Traits -______-

nobody has mistaken Toorc as anything out of the ordinary but there are quite a few people who have no idea what he is, which I find odd because I figured they were a pretty distinct breed.

Wait til they start asking you if he is a warlock doberman or a regular doberman and then get all confuzzled and shell shocked and sometimes defensive when you explain to them that there is no such thing as a warlock doberman, especially if they had a 120 lb warlock doberman.

I had some guy tell me there are 3 sizes of Dobermans. He was completely serious, and I had to try so hard not to laugh.

Trinket was about 5 or 6 months, and he was trying to tell me she was a miniature Doberman. I tried to set him straight, but he was insisting that she was too small to be a Doberman. That comment really made me laugh in his face, and I tried to tell him she was just a baby, but he was insistent.

Awwww! Rou has a girlfriend black/rust dobie in class who is a whole month and a half younger. He plays with her and then turns bashfully half way through his initiation, wagging his nub ignoring her trying to act mature (at least that is how it appears).

Oh I love when I get asked if he's a doberman. Then I get asked if he's a warlock doberman. Then I get told that they used to have a warlock doberman much larger than my 100lb 31" boy. THEN I get lectured about how warlock dobermans are real and I'm wrong.

I got reamed a new one at class when initially looking at Skoll's rescue pictures because apparently I'd cropped my greyhound mix's ears. Okay.

Granted, less than 24 hours in and on a potty walk, I get guesses for pit bull, great dane, and GSD.

I've gotten lots of things. GSD, Rotty, even Great Dane (I know, right JM?) I just laugh. I get LOTS of people that tell me that they used to have a doberman. Most of whom tell me how big they were, usually in the 100 - 130 pound range. I'm not really sure what to say to that. I usually just say, oh that's nice and try to leave the area.

Lol the people asked if I had actually seen their friend's doberman who apparently is 150lbs. After they called Toorc's ears fancy cut though, I lost interest in them immediately and we were on our merry way. All I can say is, these people were the types that should never have owned this breed.

I actually bumped into a very nice lady at the petstore who told me she had a warlock doberman... ummmm...

then she proceeded to ask if I could convince her son to not get his 6 month old pup neutered too soon... I guess there is hope She was very sweet...

But I did get more than one "I have a mini one of him!"

haha the 3 sizes of a dobe huh? wonder if he was thinking Min-pin, German Pinscher and dobe? I hate when people call Bella "chocolate" .. she's red, thank you. I have had a few people ask if Nexus is a mix because of her petite size but so far no one has called her a mini. She is 72 lbs, but very small for her weight. At least I think so.
