Ok i seen on facebook someone has a full TAN colored doberman. Tan as in the rust points. Like the dog doesnt even have rust points because the dog is completely that color and is called a fawn. Almost like a red mini pin. The dog looks like a doberman. They said its a fawn. But the fawns ive seen are like a silverish almost color. I cant recall if they said she was papered or not. Is it possible for a dobie to be that color?

Was it the Garrett's dobermans? They have those weird viszla colored dobes.

Thanks. I feed Orijen. Absolutely love it and can't rate it enough. Darcy will be 5 in Feb and she has a full coat no hair loss or any pimple issues. Her hair is also growing back quickly after her op.

I would guess fawn and its just weird lighting for the pic.

Idk its a weird color for sure. Thats why i was thinking maybe the dogs mixed? Cause i never seen a doberman of that color and ive been doing alot of reading and etc...

I think you need better pictures - as someone above said, they don't all look like the same dog - maybe it isn't, maybe it is & you can't tell because of the different lighting & poses.

The couch picture looks more dobe 'ish' than the other two - but in that curl it's hard to tell if the chest / tuck look right. (They don't to me, but I'm not an expert.)

Yeah there was a few more the lady has posted playing with her other dobies. But ive just never seen a doberman with those colors before. There would be no way of me getting better pictures. However if you wish to join on facebook Just Dobermans group. She has idk about 6 pictures posted on there. Her name is kathy. dont recall the last name. I think shes the owner of the group though.

Yep, I agree and was my thoughts exactly when I saw the last picture. It looks exactly like one of those Garrett dogs. Didn't they have a vizsla, too, or something like that???

Guess this color is set to be the next rare color like the albinos used to be.


ETA Wait...just remembered, the Garrett's weird colored doberx dogs had black noses. They claimed them to be fawn and register as such, but they have black noses, which fawns don't have.

I looked at all 3 photos you posted, and the vague shadings of the coloration make me think this dog is not pure Dobe - her coat, the hint of houndy-shepherdy facial mask, the color, even her head shape - i feel as though she has some hound or maybe ridgeback or something in there... maybe not recently.

Either the color register on the picture of this puppy is WAY, WAY off or that is not a fawn but a blue.

There are pictures scattered around on various threads about fawns of my fawn dog, Ch Foxfire's Gold Toed Monster BN CD RE OA AXJ CGC ROM--call name Toad. If you can't get any of the threads that have pictures of him to come up try DobeQuest--there is a picture of him there too.

I agree she might be mixed somewhere back in the lines. I see people all the time advertising AKC purebred dogs that are clearly mixed. Like someone posted not to long back about purebred akc labs but they were black and tan and black and white. Clearly not purebred.. lol
