chuck is a nut.

i wish i could find him a job keeping birds off of airport runways..............geese off a beach.........crows out of a farmers field..clear the blueberry fields of all blueberry eatin' birds..something that he would love to do.......and he would be damn good at it too.

he does keep them chick stealing Ravens from hanging around.

but he tore apart a very nicely stacked cord of firwood the other day cause these little, tiny, teenie, chirping birds like to hang out in the wood shed.

little, tiny, teeny...i mean what the heck are they going to do that we need to chase them off all the time....!

chuck is a nut.

but i kinda like nuts.

Parker makes those running dashes for the couch, only he hits the back of the couch and springs off. Rough on the wall if I am not sitting on said couch.

needed a doberman.

a male was best with Pearl.

no boys available in rescue.

noticed poor chuck several times on craigs list or kijji (sp?)

at one time even contacted them and offered to help find chuck a home...........then saw his ad gone................then back up again a few weeks after............then they contacted me and told me the whole history of chuck, and that if they could not find him a forever home soon they would have to surrender him to a rescue..............

longer story..........but got to go............i have a visitor.........

They look like they are having a blast.

...........so, even though i in no way wanted another blue doberman..........especially one who suffered from seperation anxiety...........had a really, really strong prey drive................and husband of owner said he "hated the dog"..........

and even though Chuck had.....................gotten out of every crate known to woman or man...........ate walls, floors, curtains, door knobs, window frames.....couches..........chairs.......leashes.. ...and anything else he could get a hold of if left alone..........

had no idea who bred him.........he was sold as a pup, then first owner sold him at about 6 months of age......then was owned for over 2 years by the people i adopted him from, but they had tried to place him without any luck, he just came back after eating other peoples stuff.

so, I thought, what the heck, i needed more activity around here.

so i payed their costs to deliver Chuck to me as it would have cost the same for me to go to them.

they arrived.opened the truck door.........and out jumped this very skinny, shabby looking blue intact 2 1/2 year old blue doberman.....

we walked around the property for over an hour, she had chuck on lead. I just kept observing his reactions to everything..and especially Pearl.

i decided to keep him.

for better or for worse.

in good health and bad............




off came his nuts.............more food............lots of exercise and 6 months later you have the new and improved Chuck.



still blue..........hahahah............but he will do.

have not even put up a crate, I think just seeing one would be stressfull for him.

i rarely go anywhere, but a few times i needed to so I just calmly did what i always do........mix up a dish of food...a bone...into the pen beside Pearls.Pearl in hers.and I left for one hour the first time.few hours the second time.last time 6 hours.

first time he was stressed when i got back .had dug a small hole by the gate..shredded a blanket...and was panting.

i made no big deal of it when i came home.just let Pearl out, then Chuck and calmly walked to the cabin.

next time he was much better, next time even better...........

NO WAY would i leave him alone in a car or house for any length of time.

yet.



blue coat is.....a blue coat.

thinning as he ages.

but what hair he has.............truely shines!



and to those that asked or wondered...

YES.....Chuck and Pearl do that EVERY morning.

I never wanted blue dobe NOT EVER!!!! Sometimes we get what needs us most! LOL Chuck is a wonderful dog and I think he hit the lotto having you as his person!
