Does your Doberman ever snob you?

Nala is our first Doberman so not sure if this is just a trait of hers, or if others have noticed this.. It usually happens is when she is tired- I will talk to her or ask for kisses and she will totally ignore me! Also when I pick her up from daycare she sometimes does this or when I talk to her before I actually open her crate in the morning. A lot of the time she is very fun sweet and animated so I try not to take it personally has anyone else experienced this?

Most of the time my girls will kiss me on command, but there's been a time or 2 specially with Luna when she's lazing around on a bed or couch that I literally put my lips against hers and she just looks at me like: uhum SO? lolll .its rare but it happens

you mean snub?!

Caes sometimes when he has been on a long walk and is tired becomes completely ignorant to all command and just lays in his bed looking out the corner of his eye...

Of course! They aren't golden retrievers, after all. I always laugh when I get up in the morning(4 am) and turn on the light, Prime just glares at me while trying to keep his eyes open, then he grumbles and stares at me again like he is seriously saying "wtf. I'm trying to sleep here and you are disrupting my beauty sleep." and when I try to get a few minutes of sleep in I will try and get back into bed on my side and the little heifer leaves me a corner and makes himself dead weight so it's nearly impossible to move him, and by that time I just have to stay awake ;p

Ha, yes! Griffin also hates getting up in the morning. I'll call him, and I see the Doberball under the fleece blanket curl even tighter. His way of saying "GO AWAY, I'm trying to sleep here." He's also fond of snubbing me whenever he sees me pull the dog shampoo out from under the sink.

Ha ha I'm laughing reading your responses. They sound very familiar. I have gotten the look out of the corner of her eye and have resorted to putting my lips to hers when she won't kiss me...nothin! Glad it's not just me!

Elke is a master of the "I'm not looking at you, I'm not looking at you" moves. She will literally move her head all around to avoid looking into my eyes when I'm trying to get her attention. Then I walk away and she comes trotting after me like "Mom! Mom! Mom!"

Hahaha yes!! I'll be like Brandy come here, I want to kiss your cute little head! Then all of a sudden, she moves her head away and shifts over! Totally rude!

Sometimes we'll try to give her a kiss and Brandy will move her head away so we miss! We call that being "coy dog".
Of course it's ok for her to try to stick her tongue down our throats whenever she wants!

yes, Lexi does this.
And since she's pushy for people to play with her or pet her I will be pushy and bother her when she doesn't want to be bothered. In which she grumbles at me lol

Sometimes, if we've been gone for an hour or so and have to leave Sofia at home, she will pout. She'll go into a different room and sulk. If we ignore her, she'll come in where we are so we can see her pout. She's even followed us outside and makes a big to do about her snit.. throw herself down with a "HHHHHFFF!!"

OMG this is so Fiona. *sigh*

"Go away. I don't care. You're wasting my time. I wish you'd get a life outside of me already! I swear there is not a more annoying human in the history of annoying humans...Hey, what are you doing? Are you going somewhere? Can I go? Let me see what you're holding! Are you eating? Can I have some if I'm super polite? I'll just sit right here and rest a paw on your leg. If you feel like sharing with your most adoring best-friend feel free to slip me a small bite. Not that you have to but I just figure since we're like oxygen to each other..."

Tali doesn't snub people. You'll get her attention just fine, but she'll make sure you don't want it. For as sweet as she is, Tali can be a crabby ass. LOL Though I appreciate full privileges of her belief that I'm the creator of her universe, so she doesn't pull that sh!t with me and I can easily interrupt it if she tries with someone else.

I guess I'm the odd ball. I have never had a doberman that snubbed me. Mine have always been smothering and turn themselves inside out with gooey mushiness any time any attention is given to them.

omg yes! I am super kissy (like no less tha 100 kisses a day) and Ammo gets so annoyed with me, tries to turn away, rolls eyes, completely tries to act like im not there! LOL, I just keep kissing, in other places around his face

Cadence is the opposite though, she thinks that if I kiss her she has to return the kisses x 1000 ! lol

I get snubbed when I've been away & Chanel is annoyed that it has been someone else looking after her. She does the 'since you don't love me anymore, I'm not going to look at you' move. Then she remembers she loves me & is velcro dog again.

My dh is occasionally offended when she greets me at the door, but not him.

Kaiser will usually give me kisses on command, but as soon as I try to show someone, he refuses and pulls away when I try to plant one on him. He's apparently not a fan of PDA!
