| A very short Christmas Tree Story. Once upon a time we had a beautiful tree, (even if it doesn't photograph very well), it was fully decorated and all lights worked. Ironically it was around the same time we had a sofa that wasn't chewed.
Then a monster moved in. A monster with four legs who at this very moment won't even look at me with both eyes.
She suddenly decided that this year the ornaments were too good not to grab so she helped herself to a buffet of them, didn't eat any, just made sure they were no longer pretty enough to hang. Now the tree looks naked. Oh that's our monster by the way, with one of my favorite clip on humingbirds that used to sit on a branch.
Now she is a very guilty monster, after getting caught red pawed with the evidence this is what I get. The guilty doberstare. I love my monster but shes making us nuts with this tree obsession of hers.
The end!

| Thank you Mellonnew and I probably wouldn't have been so upset if it were only one, it was more like twenty or so she has managed to sneak in the last week. By Christmas I'm preparing myself for a totally naked tree with a tree topper angel, but I see her eyeing that and with the way she jumps who knows, she might just get that too. Then I get the stare and I turn to mush. Can't stay mad at that face for very long.

| Well since I laughed at your pain I feel I should offer that spraying plants with a little water mixed with regular cinnamon oil is good at keeping my horses and the deer from devouring my Hostas... don't know if it works with Dobermans but it probably wouldn't hurt and it's cheap! |

| Dobermann Dragon Slaying???
You should consider yourself lucky to have such an intuitive doberman, who noticed the dragons even before you did.

| And this is why I decided that especially this year with a new puppy I'm going with a 4 ft tree on the table.

| Well at least she's being "gentle" about it.....mabel just did her zoomies, took the turn to wide and hooked herself in the lights...she almost took the whole thing down
All I got was a "you're ruining my fun ma..." stare from the couch while we rewrapped it with lights and put ornaments back. Between her and the cats...it's going to be a long holiday season

You're very smart I really should have done that. The battles I have been having with her over this tree have been ridiculous to say the least, and she's so sneaky about it. I swear she tiptoes up to the tree to snatch them. Lol

| When I lived at home we had 2 cats that waited until the Christmas tree was decorated and they climbed right to the top...........needless to say it came crashing down and we put most of the things back up. Back in the 70s everything was glass so for weeks we were picking up glass from the floor.
I loved that picture...........she's a redhead what can she say |

| Oh and for an update, I just found the scarecrow (from our wizard of oz limited edition ornaments that I have had for oh at least 20 years) in her kennel and a gold bow right in front of it. I give up. She won. Next year I'm buying a menorah. So much easier. Now she is laying in her kennel butt first cause she can't face me. They must have heard me screaming in the next state. Lol. I swear she is aging me by the minute with this tree.

| I like the #2 wink pic too, describing "monster". I get it
My tree is mini and artificial one so that it sits on the side table. My late cockatiels used to "tease" the ornaments or tried to perch on. Every year I look at my tree, it reminds me the time I decorated the tree with my birds.

| aww poor girl, she is only trying to get in the holiday spirit, she wanted to decorate her kennel! I am very fortunate my two ignore the tree. We were worried last year about it, but to be honest they never glanced at it. They spent more time trying to eat the snow off the table or steal the Christmas stuffies I have around the house. This year they seem to be doing better, and no one has stolen a mouthful of snow .. yet!

| OK... so, first of all, be glad she isn't a 'he' who decides it must be OK to pee on it since it IS a tree, just indoors. Next, be glad she isn't 1 or 2 kitties who are very thrilled to have a tree to climb, right inside their house. . . we've had both! So, for years, we've had an artificial table-tree, because it really does make a big difference - doesn't smell like a tree, and too much trouble to jump up to perpetrate mischief - and you get used to it. Of course, we also have a menorah, but it's not for self-defense! (PS - we also had to stop putting tinsel on the tree, because cats - and some stupid dogs - like to eat it, and then have sparkly silver hangers.....)

This is the first year I've tempted a full size tree. The first 3 years I used a 2' tree and I tied bows on it, forgoing nice ornaments, to make sure the dogs didn't have much interest. So far so good... *knock on wood*
