If I give Fiona a piece of carrot she'll spit it out, sniff it, then taste it 3 or 4 times before eating it.

I've learned tonight that if I leave an open bag of unattended baby carrots on the end table so I can get a water from the kitchen she will help herself to several straight out of the bag in my absence, while the dog nicknamed "Piggy" (aka Tali) stands back watching.

Yet another perfect example of the fact if it's my idea, it's questionable. If it's Fiona's idea...all net.

Fiona's not just a thinker, she's a skeptic.

Saph stole food from me while we were getting to know each other (read i was at work and used to jed who doesnt steal food), she stole anything she could wrap her mouth around if it was on the counter. One day i decided she could have the last of the baguette that was starting to go stale.... I left it out for her on a kitchen chair....do you think the bitch touched it?! NOPE!

I think I have got you guys beat.

Toby will eat just about anything, of course if you give it to him he sometimes looks at you as if you are trying to poison him or something especially when say the caserole has a bay leaf in it.

Today I gave him some left overs for lunch in which a solitary bay leaf lurked. Knowing Toby's aversion for the things I quickly fished it out and threw it in the container in which I put organic waste for my compost heap.

Two minutes later the bin lid flies off and in dives a Dobe nose followed by him running hell for leather off of the porch, bay leaf firmly clamped between his teeth. Before I could say anything down it went.

Yep stolen stuff is far better than given stuff, even if it does taste yukky (as does a bay leaf when chomped).

My son's terrier cross will beg, beg, beg with her big brown eyes. When you finally give her a morsel, she has to examine it closely before she decides it is okay to eat. Go figure.

Gracie loves carrots and will steal even full size ones off the cutting board if you don't guard them closely. Diva won't eat them at all, thank you very much.
