| Keno's Bed So Keno loves to sleep in my bed or on the couch which he can, but ONLY WHEN I INVITE HIM. So I went to the Salvation Army, bought 5 full size comforters, washed them, made them smell real purty like my bed, and sewed them all together to make 1 HELL of a doggie bed.
I put him down for bed, the 1st night, everything was fine,, 2nd and 3rd fine and fine. 4th night,,,, I woke up to find goose feathers and filling all over my bedroom floor from him pulling the stuffing out his bed.
Ok, I fixed the bed as much as I could. Bought him a BRAND NEW Bully stick, which he USUALLY LOVES (16in dried pork skin wrapped in peanut butter flavor rawhide) I figured he was at bored at night. He tossed that in the corner and commensed to destroying the soft comfy bed I toiled and made for him,,,,,, WHY!!!! |

| Because destoying his new bed is soooo much more fun that chewing any silly old bully stick.
Seriously, some dogs just chew on bedding, and some don't. I can't give my GSD a bed or blanket in her crate. She'd shred it.

| He doesn't know how hard you worked on it. It isn't that he isn't appreciative, it's that he's a dog & it's fun to pull beds apart.
I'm sorry all your hard work has turned into bits of white fluff.

Many dobes, LOVE sleeping in the masters bed, and take comfort in touching their best buddy.
Sleeping in the human's bed, is ONE BIG PRIVILEGE, that dobes don't enjoy loosing.
- much like giving a teenager a car to get to school/weekends, and a few months later, you take it away...and now the city bus is their only option - your going to have one difficuly kid, to live with
Every one of my dobes, have slept in out master bed.
Right now, we got a new dobe puppy...they learn to get up on the leather couch, without an invite...and its worked well, for us.
- its their home to
With dog in our bed, I can stop any unwanted chewing and my past dobes have grown up having great house manners, and not destructive.
- there in the bed, because I can't train or fix, what I can't see...in bed is 100% supervision, and they are learning, my rules

| | denormalized | How old is he - is he really only 12 wks old? He should still be in a crate. I don't trust them loose at night consistently until after 12 mths old. Now I have a kelpie that likes to suck on Yoda's blanket so she has to stay crated. The 7mth puppy sleeps well on the bed and stays there but she prefers to be under my chin and doesn't realize she has grown, so she stays crated.
My goal is to have them sleep on the floor in a dog bed which are based either on another dog bed or placed on an 8" high 3ftx4ft platform of dense foam (with a slip cover). But there is no room with the crate tower occupying dog bed space. Yoda likes to also slip between the foam base and the dog bed - sort of "gets under the covers" - he also has an adjoining pair of dogbeds in case he needs to stretch out. Enid curls up in her far corner on 2 dog beds.
I plan for Lana to sleep on the floor with Yoda in the extended dog bed heaven there next to my side of the bed. Don't know what to do about Jill and her blanket sucking - she doesn't suck her quilt (1/2 queen quilt folder to fit) inside the crate.
I have also found that the tougher tapestry side of the older Costco circular dog bed is less likely to be chewed than the smoother variety.

| Kratos doesnt have any bed/sheet/towel even stuffed toys because he has a ritual of shredding it pieces and he'll piss and dump on it. It all depends on the dog. Right not kratos is on trial using a tshirt because im getting him jammies and i want to ensure hee wont try to shred them |

| Oh,, no. Keno is Almost 11 months now. He will be 1 yr old on 12-31-2012. He's somewhere between 68lbs and 73lbs. I should probably change that huh?
He falls asleep on the floor and when I wake up he's at the foot of my bed. He moves VERY quietly and softly when he wants too. |
