:lol2: :dancing_3: :dancing_b04: YAY!!! so this is the thread for the 2012 Secret Santa and Rescue Elves "victims" (recipients) to post pictures of their furkids sniffing strange packages they can't open yet, and later, opening and examining and trying out their loot. We also welcome all comments and observations and explanations - this is the jolliest thread of the year! :newyear:

There are a couple of people who may post early due to special circumstances, ...and all rescues can post on here any time they like. Rescues may be receiving their packages early, since any day fun things come to rescues is like Christmas. (or Chanukah iiii!iiii) :cool2: :clap2: (everyone else has to wait until at least December 15th to open gifts, which is the last night of Chanukah, and close enough to Christmas not to be totally ridiculous!!) :roflmao:

remember - after New Year's, all Santas and victims WILL be revealed! So if you haven't guessed by then or your Santa doesn't reveal their identity, you won't be left wondering! :busted_cop:

(I know this seems awfully early for a reveal thread, but thanks for being understanding. lolo) :thanx:

Thank you DT Rescue Elf Dobiegal 15

Merry Christmas from Gulf Coast Doberman Rescue
Recieved another package from a Rescue Elf. I was so touched by Ammo's story and the photos. I carefully cut one of the photos off the box and put it on my desk. Isn't it great that our dogs can inspire us to "pay it foward" for them?! Thank you so much for the box of goodies. I have not tried to post here by myself and I'm not sure I'm putting the post in the right place.
We have recently taken in a new girl, Ria. I'm going to try and attach her photo. I wanted to to show you who is getting the biggest part of your gift. She's not here fostering with me so I could not get a photo of her with the items. But the box is here waiting for her foster mom to pick it up for her this week. Thank you so much for the beautiful soft blankets, treats, kongs and peanut butter. You have made Ria and others very warm and happy for Christmas. Thank you Jacob, Tiffany, Megan, Ammo, Candence & Clyde Sylvester! aka dobiegal15 You rock!
(oh boy I can't tell if my attachment is there) Help?!

Dear SS,
We are up in Lake County IL with not alot of snow, but cars are flying off the main highway into the ditch, and "into other things", on our way home. Yikes!

We are taking it real slow going home. We promise pics with our Dober guy probably tomorrow.

I don't care about people presents that we haven't opened...

I am stressing about Secret Santa.

#465 ·
I think we might know who our SS is`. Ruger is overwhelmed with all of his gifts. We had my sister and her two dogs over for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. (The furkids had a sleep over.) Ruger didn't want to share his goodies. Well they went home, so I now have time to sort pictures and get some posted.

Awaiting the ok to dig in. Something in that box smells good.

What's in the box? Is it for me???

Ok cousin Squrit....back off.

Hurry up, open the Big Green Bag already! It IS the 25th today...

Oh boy, oh boy, I always wanted one of these. I'm so excited I can't even stand up.

MOM!!! Squirt is stealing MY stuff....

Whew....I think I got it all back. Maybe if I keep my paw on this it will be safe

I sure look handsome in my new Bronco Jammies, don't I.

Mom can drink her favorite hot beverage with her new cup.

Getting tired

And a little chilly.

Thank you SO MUCH!

We're still not sure who our Secret Santa is (our guess is LVDOBE), but we LOVE them!! All I can say is WOW, they were quite generous! We opened gifts late today, but I did manage to snap a few pictures.

Juno wanted no part of the pictures, but Jewels and KC reluctantly agreed to sit for one.

Finally! We got Juno to join the group; we had to let her wear her new pink Disney wings!

KC doesn't always hear so well, I released them from a stay, but KC clearly didn't hear me. I'm certain he's thinking those girls are gonna get in trouble!

"Every dog for him or herself!"

KC: "This is too much work, I'll let the girls do the work for me. A box of Deliciousness!"

Jewels wasted no time taking advantage of the 'old dogs' slow exploration of the contents!
She grabbed a ball and was off. Being the well trained human that I am, I chased her to retrieve the ball.

Juno's most favorite toys are puzzle toys! The other dogs depend on her to get the treats out of them!

Even Petey got in on this action!

Juno never gives up, she works those puzzle toys until the very last morsel is freed

Taking a picture of the 'booty' was like trying to climb Mount Everest! Clearly, the entire gang needs more obedience training!
Jewels managed to, once again, snag the most awesomest squeaky tennis ball, and off she went, squeak, squeak, squeak.
At least I could follow the sound to find her:D

Jewels: "Mom is hiding behind that annoying flashy box thingy, she'll never know who took the cow"

Jewels just loved this stuffed Christmas tree, and I mean, she really loved it!
It's a green and white stuffed tree and it kinda blends a little with the cover I have on the bed,
but I'm posting the pictures anyways because she was obsessed with that toy.

Iz lick it

Iz suck it

Iz hugs it (see her paws digging into the bed)

Iz BITE it

Huh? Say What? You wanna take my toy??? NOOOOOOOOOO

Nap Time!! A gift for the humans that I allow to live with me!

Our Secret Santa sent the coolest Doberman notecards, how did they know that I love note cards like that?

KC, Juno, & Jewels send nose bumps and body slams to the "3 Las Vegas Dobes"!!
I'll just send my heartfelt thanks for adding joy and humor to our Christmas, the gifts were perfect and it was SO fun opening the box!

Roxy and her humans were so EXCITED to open our SS BOX! Mom waited all day to get a chance to upload pictures. They aren't the greatest, but hope they convey how happy and blessed we are.
Roxy didn't waste any time digging in...

Modeling her new, BEAUTIFUL collar...

Playing with her new tug...which she later took to cuddle in her bed...

Had a hard time getting her to stay still long enough with her new ball...

And a lovely Doberman ornament for our tree..

We also got tons of goodies which Roxy has sampled and approved ;)
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! We love you Santa! Still not positive who you are, but you made our Christmas!

Ok, we opened our box this morning. I took lots of pictures, and some turned out despite my bad camera skills.

Thor had been enjoying his crate pad for a while now.

Trinket was VERY interested in this great smelling box.

Very interested!

Thor waited nicely until I got one of his snackie bags for him.

It was very yummy.

Trinket was worried he would steal hers though (he was stealing her new toy this morning).

Thor would snatch a cookie from the bag and run off to eat it, too fast for me snap a picture. Trinket would shove her whole nose in there, and use it like a feed bag.

Trinket was good at this part!

Trinket got a beautiful new purple collar with a nice metal buckle, fits perfectly and she was the purple collar girl in her litter!! I can see her in the yard at night easily, since it's a light reflecting collar!

Thor tried on his new jacket, and I think Trinket was a little jealous.

This must be my jacket!

It looks great on me!

Told you it was mine! My DH loved this, it might be hers now, lol.

Trinket says thank you, I look awesome in my new gear!!

Thor says thanks for my much loved crate pad, and the delicious snackies!

Our loot (minus Trinket's collar and Thor's crate pad)

Our gift, an ornament!

Thor says thank you so much Secret Santa (ACarrigDobermans)!! You spoiled my guys, they are SO happy with all their goodies, and I have been eating my candy. :D Trinket may have stolen Thor's jacket, but Thor might steal her crate pad, since she likes to eat stuffing, so it all works out in the end. And they LOVED those cookies, they were completely gone in the time it took me to take a few pictures! Thank you so much!!! :thanx:

Merry Christmas!!

I will post pictures ASAP, but thank you SO MUCH SS! Brandy LOVES all her jammies and toys! I thought the toys were SO cute! They had little smiling snowmen on them! :D :D

Here are some of the SCD Rescue kids enjoying their presents. Thank you all SO much, you guys are beyond generous!

This is Nicholas. He is five months old and his back left leg was broken. His owners brought him in to have him put down and the vet agreed to take him if they signed him over. The vet did surgery on his leg and then called us. We agreed to take him, and when we asked what his bill was the vet said "Nothing- Merry Christmas."!! He just wanted this boy to have a good home. How kind and generous is that? We had to do his photo shoot outside because poor little guy was peeing all over LOL.

Nicky's scar on his leg:

This is Lady Belle. Lady is twelve years old. She was an owner surrender at a gassing facility because she stopped eating. Lucky for her this gassing facility has a group of volunteers who work hard to network and save their dogs. They called us about Lady and we picked her up and took her straight to our vet. It turned out Lady Belle had an abscessed tooth and three other teeth that needed removal. After that she ate just fine. She is such a sweet girl and she sure doesn't act twelve years old.

Two of Arda's permanent residents, Georgie is the black, she is 13 and will be wearing the stylish new coat that came. Diamond is the white, she is 8.

This is Dennis. He is almost two. He didn't have any rules in his last home and he got himself in a wee bit of trouble. He's a good boy, but he will take charge if someone else doesn't. So far he is doing very good at behaving himself here.

The other black boy here with the flop ears is Chaos, a permanent resident.

Arghhhh....the storms are gone but today we have super high winds and our internet is still crap. I've tried all morning to upload my good pics and videos of Gunner to photobucket but it's refusing to work :( Our SS was AWESOME and gave Gunner the softest new blanket ever, yummy treats, and the most perfect toys. He LOVES his new tennis balls and puzzle game :) I will keep trying to get the videos uploaded but here are some pics from my phone. The quality is crappy, but it's all that is working for now :rolleyesww:

Riding in my lap on the way home from my parent's house..the back of the SUV was so crammed with presents that there was nowhere for him to go :p He didn't mind and fell asleep even though it was a short ride.

What?! You mean a doggy stocking just for ME?!

I have the best SS ever! I LOVE these tennis balls! Nom nom...

Waiting patiently for Mom to open this cool treat puzzle...I had it figured out in under a minute. Dobermans are SMART ya know ;)

Ok, my camera completely died so all I have are these craptastic cell phone pics.

Thanks to Gracieface for the presents.

We got some tripe, a pretty collar, a kong wobbler, a wubba and a snake toy that Luci plays with all the time........ 6:00 in the morning we'll hear *sqeak squeak squicka squeak squicka squeaaakk* but she Loves it.

Again, please excuse the quality of these :) (the snake toy is not included in the pic of all the stuff b/c Luci ran off with it)

A very big thank-you to Cheryl and Ruger!!!
You spent way too much money!!

Zachary and Claire opened their enormous box on the 23rd.

Cheryl sent a beautiful card with a little poem about grieving over the holidays.
I read one line, but fell apart, so I am saving it.
Thank you for being so thoughtful.

My husband took quite a few pictures of the Monsterchild ripping every package apart, running around the house, stealing each toy Claire opened, shredding box & paper, barking, jumping, flinging the Styrofoam stuffers all over, did I mention jumping, and he ate right through one box of dog cookies and was having a feast.
Zachary was so excited!!!

This is his first Christmas with a family (we adopted him in March, and believe he had spent the first portion of his life tied outside).
I know I let him away with too much, But I received a lot of joy watching him go bananas with all his presents.

I do have some great pictures, some blurry pictures, and not one of them sitting quietly.
I cannot figure out Windows 8. If anyone would be kind enough to post some pictures of Zachary enjoying his SS gifts, pls let me know and I can email them to you (I think)

Again, Thank-you Doberdeer, we have been thinking of you and Ruger.

Finally the moment Capone and I had been waiting for!! We got so lucky with our Secret Santa and we can not thank you enough.
I had to show off this picture because it was so cute.

and the package that was in it was amazing!!! It was a necklace of my Ponie when he was just a little baby.

When I opened up the box I was shocked to find out I was going to get a Lizard Leather collar!! I was so excited about that and I thought it couldn't get any better, but it did.

Capone got some very cute Grinch accessories, which I love so much!!

Capone got an everlasting treat ball and he was so excited about it.

Capone also got some great antlers and I was so amazed at their sizes.

Capone and I can not thank our SS, who we believe is Zeusy Boy's Mama, enough. You were so amazing and kind. You made our Christmas so special.

#483 ·
YAY! Zeus and I had a blast shopping for Capone and his mommy. :) Thank you for the photos, they are adorable!

NOOOOOOOO. I just spent 20 minutes typing up the world's longest thanks post, with photos and video, and then my browser lost it all :(

Sigh. Take two.

The A-Team didn't get to open their present (mean mom) until last night because we spent Christmas eve and day up at my folks' place. But boy howdy did opening that box at the end of the day just make their Christmas! Lois and her fur-kids totally spoiled them! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

Finally getting to explore the box:

Something in there smells soooo yummy:

Video evidence of the kids learning how to un-wrap. My favorite part of this is how Alfie immediately loses focus because of another awesome toy he's already "unwrapped" and then gives me the "MOM! Whats do I playz with FURST??!" stare, before going back to 'help' his sister.

Unwrapping.

***Unfortunately (for the photos/video) following this, pure chaos basically ensued. Presents were being unwrapped! Paper was everywhere! Things were squeaking, crunching, and crackling! When I say Lois spoiled them, I mean they were seriously spoiled: they got tons of toys (they LOVE toys!), tons of treats - the good kind they think mom needs to buy lots more of (bully sticks, cows ears, pig ears, Christmas rawhide, and lung puffs nom nom nom - they LOVE treats!), and nice soft blankets for each of them (they LOVE blankets!). The A-Team was happy that Lois also included some Dobe paraphernalia for the humanz in the house because they like it when the whole world knows that this household revolves around them.***

I wish I had thought to get a picture of all the goods together, but I was battling some strong forces here ... so here is a shot of the "after." Note Alfie making a grab for Lois' awesome hand-made fleece toy ...

This does not convey the sheer amount of stuff in that wonderful box, but I can ensure you that Audrey and Alfie are enjoying every single item it!

Auds has focused her OCD with the cuz with the tail and has already spent hours in this position:

Last night she fell asleep on the bed with the cuz tucked under her chin.

Alfie likes to play with everything for a couple minutes and then pull out a new toy, but he is especially attached to the crunchy bottle penguin toy. He likes to crunch it crunch it crunch it and then cuddle it! This morning I found *him* asleep in the leather chair downstairs with the penguin cuddled in his paws ... he also went to town on the tennis ball. He LOVES balls! (Ok, Alfie is just generally enthusiastic about life, but that's not so bad, right?)

We haven't tried the IQ treat ball yet, but I can't wait to give it a whirl!

So thank you, thank you, thank you! to Lois, Willie, and Annie. My two had a most excellent time opening their SS present. Happy holidays to you all and know you brought much joy to this house :p:):p
