| How tall is your fence, it looks great, but it doesnt look tall enough to keep such a big boy as yours inside if he jumped at it. |

To be honest I think Toby would probably jump a 4' high fence if the mood took him. He jumps up and over this sort of height when running out and about.
But I have to admit, if he had a lovely green area like your boy has maybe he wouldnt. Nice place you live. Wanna swop? |

| Baron looks very manly and handsome with his new fence! And boy am I envious of your 4 1/2 acres!!
I have had a 4' fence for several years now too (3 diff houses), and like you, have never had any problem with either of my dobes jumping over.

| Nice! We're hoping to get a fence like that up one of these years too! I'm glad to know
the 4 ft is sufficient.
Baron is looking good too!

| Baron has such a regal manner. What a handsome boy.
Love the fence! I had to add just a segment of one when I got Delta (yard was fenced on 3 of 4 sides - no idea why). It's such a relief when playing to know the area is safely enclosed!

| I was wondering, did you fence the whole 4 and a half acres?
Did you erect the fence yourself, how are the posts placed in the ground, concrete or just dug in. It looks fantastic, unfortunately by law I have to have a 2 metre high fence or I will be crucified by the authorities, we also have to have the poles concreted in and the base of the fence itself concreted or shored up by stone. |

That being said, I have chain link too and it's probably a foot shorter than Dax's fence. As long as you're supervising the dog I don't think it'l be a problem. I've been where I'm at for over a year now without any issues.

| You're lucky he doesn't know to jump that fence. We have a 5ft and Riley can reach the top when he's excited seeing a squirrel or something, and he still has a lot of growing to do.
My gosh, that's such a handsome fella!

| Handsome boy! I totally understand the security of a fence. We had a 4 foot fence on part of our yard once. My dogs never ever tried to cross it. However, I had a 7 ft wire fence (kind of like the sheep panel fencing) and Gretchen would climb right over it to get into the garden area. Dilapidated fence out there, but she'd stay inside it. Just wanted to climb I guess lol. |

| Feels good huh? I built Zoey a 6 foot fence around the perimeter of my yard and it's night and day having her outside. I had her on a cable attached to a harness and one night she took off, broke the harness @ 4AM!!! Needless to say, the fence was put up the weekend after. |

I think the measurements are 50 x 72 x 50 and we put a 6 x 12 side fence for "business" area at night. We had a contractor do it. Much to difficult for hubby and I. The poles are set in concrete. We live in a very rural area. No fence laws here.
We had a fenced in area around our pool at our other place and before that went up back in the early 90's our second Dobe was skunked 3 or 4 times. That is one of the reason a fenced in area for me is a must.

I actually live in the middle of nowhere compared to most folk and still I have to abide by the fence laws that really ought to be applicable only in built up areas.
I am thinking the US is so much easier a place to live. |

| Can't imagine if I would have to confine my kids with fencing, we have 10 acres of wooded land. They know their bondries, but a fence would keep them from bringing dead bones(deer) to the house! |

| he is so gorgeous and regal looking - i love seeing pics of him.
our Dobes are so respectful of even the suggestion of a fence - it's like they just want to know what their perimeters are - they won't even jump over a 3 foot little garden fence... our perimeter fence in CA was a 6' wood 'privacy'fence, but here, the whole 2.5 acres is fenced with a wire net fencing that they could most likely plow through if they really wanted to. They don't care - they just like knowing what their territory is. We have a fairly large arena that the previous owners trained cutting and barrel racing horses in, and is adjacent to neighbor with 3 ankle-biters. DH took some scraps of 2'- 3' wire fencing and just propped it along a couple of areas between stables and ring, and the dogs don't even test it. We used to have a GSP who adored jumping, and could easily clear 6.5' ! these guys... HA!
