| There is more to the story just rather not post it publicly. Id be happy to discuss it in a private message. But rather just keep it off the forms. Im just here to learn more about the breed and also make sure there isnt something im missing since i never raised dobies puppies before. Since obviously i dont know it all. all breeds are different. |

If you are will to post that someone may be able to tell you a little more about their lineage. Probably not, but a long shot is better than no shot. |

| Everyones gunna kill me by the time im done. But there CKC which means they probably dont have any traceable lineage. Probably unregistered parents that got CKC slapped on.
Trying to get on a brighter note. I need naming ideas for them. I dont have a clue what to name them. |

Mostly for providing money to keep the parents of those puppies in what is likely a very bad situation. There are quite a few rescue people on here, and this situation certainly offends ALOT of us. But what's done is done. I'd rip on you for it, but I'd rather know...
Who is the breeder?
Names... Hmmm, let me think on it. I like short (single syllable) nicknames / call names for training purposes. That's just me, thou. I have a Leo and a Mac

First tip...puppies should ideally go to their new homes around 10 weeks of age. The old school and outdated thought was 6 weeks but they still haven't had enough time to learn important behaviors from their mom and siblings at that point. It is even illegal in some states for a greeder to sell a puppy at 6 weeks and less.
Before I knew any better, an ex of mine bought a GSD puppy when we were living together. We went to the BYB's house and they had the mom and dad(typical of bad breeders..throwing dogs they have together out of convenience), we weren't allowed to see the dad because he was aggressive, but they really tried to sell us by saying their dogs are bought by police officers and are good working dogs, etc etc. I thought that meant they were good quality and smart. So they sold one to my ex at 4 weeks. We got lucky, he was an easy puppy, maybe because my husky put him in line ;p You've got a bigger situation though with litter mates that are both too young with who knows what is lurking in their genetic history. Best of luck and I hope everything works out ok. |

| I believe in my state its 6 weeks for non breeder and 8 weeks for breeders. I think thats every state now. I dont think you can sell a puppy legally under 6 weeks.
I dont think police buy 4 week old GSD for work purposes. People will say anything these days it seems like. |

You have a history with dogs enough to know how to bottle feed, you are aware the state law prohibits selling of puppies under the age of 6 weeks, you knew the "breeder" was crap, and still you purchased 2 underage puppies at a gas station?
WHAT THE HELL????
I'm sure by your cryptic message there is more to this story - but you need to know where you are - this is a passionate board and in order for those experienced here to really help you we have to have a better idea of what is happening.
I hope you stay and learn, you will need all the help you can get and there is no better place than DT to get that help - but again, please enlighten us on how you found yourself in this situation? |

| Ok,
I was talking to another board member in private message about the situation.
Basicly i wanted a dobie and was searching and ran acrossed the breeder. They told me everything basicly you want to hear. I probably rushed into the situation and sent off a deposit without seeing the puppy or the parents or even pictures. That was my fault. I rushed the situation.
I called to check how the pup was doing and got a whole other story. He had 3 other litters on the ground more on the way. He told me he has sold puppies at 2 weeks and he isnt responsible for what happens to them after the sale. He had other litters on the way. Turns out they live in a barn out in the cold and never were handled from birth. He said he had only the male left he sold the rest. He wouldnt allow me to come to his house he insisted on meeting at a gas station. he gave away to his friend a black and rust dobie he said cause she chased his horses. But his friend is going to give him 1/2 of every litter back out of her. He also told me that i could BREED these two together it dont matter they share the same father.
he told me he got them out of the barn and tried to clean them up and get the fleas off them and etc... So basicly i rushed into the situation with wanting a dobie and then after all was said and done i found out what kind of breeder they were. So i bought the male as well to give him a better life. I didnt pay much for them. I understand buying them doesnt stop the issue it only makes it go on but in my mind i did what was right for these two. |

| Like he was almost bragging about the whole thing. Makes me wonder if these two are inbred as well. He said next litters he was charging more. I drove 6 hours round trip. He was really nice just his breeding practices were not great. Also he said how his females in hit killed one of the females from fighting that it happens when you get a bunch of females in heat.
So i feel atleast these two are insured a good life now. Im sure he told me more that i just cant remember atm ive been up since 5am. |

If no one ever says or does anything, it will just continue forever. Poor animals in this terrible person's care.
