| Good for you! and good luck in the coming 2 weeks.
I was in a similar toxic veterinary based work environment, but I was the tortured.
7 years I worked there- I put in my two weeks and worked just as I always did.
Let me tell you at 21 years of age ( I am currently 22) I found myself at the bar right after work drinking my misery away literally every night. I was so important, but so broken it was sickening.
I currently work at a different practice, but as it is co-owned with separate (and much better) management, I still see my old boss from time to time- no hard feelings
What are your plans at this point?

What are your plans at this point? | The dogs have it worse (they're stuck) but I was definitely tortured, manipulated, and taken advantage of. It's a toxic practice all because of her and her deeply poor management; me and the other employees (most of them) are actually good friends.
The plan now is to work the next two weeks if she schedules me and frantically find a new job, even seasonal, to cover the bills. I have a month, two tops and as crazy stressful as it will be I will never regret this decision. Since I left at 12:30 I've applied to 6 jobs and am still applying now.
I left the clinic, after scribbling a quick two weeks notice on a scrap paper, shaking, smiling, and saying omg for the whole ride home, then I hugged, danced and played with my dog with the most stress free feeling I've ever had!

| I'm sorry, I didn't mean my situation was WORSE but any means. My heart cried out for your situation and the dogs in your opening post. Please don't take it that way. I just edited my post- I left the site, thought about it and came back to change it. I'm such a doof!

| You can do it. Finding technician work is tough to find but with your experience you have a great shot!
When I quit it was the most happy I have ever been- I had nowhere to go and nothing to do but be with my animals. I didn't have Rou then but man was I happy. I'm not going to lie though, it was tough!

| I'm applying to pretty much anything and honestly that's fine by me since I don't know what I even want to do anymore, a normal steady job for awhile until I find a longterm career path is fine by me
And yes I can't wait to finally have soooo much time to devote to mabel, this place had the worst schedule, poor girl's training has been deeply neglected!

| So happy for your Sam. Your health and well being is very important and you will find something that will be perfect for you and something that you will enjoy going to. I worked at a big company for 28 years and the last 11 years were pure hell. Don't know to this day how I survived. But I was stuck because I had a pension coming so I just could not quit. Told myself if I ever have another job, it will be something I enjoy and when it get unenjoyable, I leave! Wishing you are the best of lucking finding something you will be happy with.

It's a scary thing to have done in this economy but at least I did it at the best time...seasonal help anyone?, for now I just want a normal job with regular hours and a realistic schedule, where I come do my job and then go home, while I figure my life out...mabel's already enjoying me being home, I was woken with a dober body slam and thousands of kisses I think she knows lol (she never liked her "mother" either haha)

| I'm glad you finally decided to quit (best thing I ever did was quit WalMart), but there is one thing that crossed my mind, and has me kind of worried. There's no way she could try to take Mabel back out of spite, is there? I mean, her registration and everything was transfered to your name, right?

| Out of curiosity, I researched your boss and found that she really did used to have some nice dogs and titled them and bred to some nice dogs/pedigrees.
It's really sad that she was doing things right back then and now decides she should just do whatever is easiest to make a profit. I guess just becauseyou title a dog really doesn't mean you care about em. Sad that she only pics a select few to care about. |

Sad that she only pics a select few to care about. | Oh I def know what you mean...a lot of who she was and what she did has changed. It used to be a thriving business with team work and happiness and she used tobreed to better the breed but now her whole life is money and personal convenience. She's breeding my sweet Naomi...with ai so it probly won't take, but she's not even 2 nor titled hardly trained and she has a wonderfully drivey titled, tested, three year old she could be outcrossing instead....but nope. And does she even have homes lined up? Nope she can't even place kooper or mabels returned sister. What does honey boo boo say "dolla makes me holla? " .....yea pretty much.
*excuse the typos I'm on my phone*

| Good for you!!! I just left a very stressful job. I took a job with a start up company going public. We could succeed or fall flat and I'd be out of luck...BUT it was worth it. I am so much happier not having that stress to deal with. Sending job juju!!

My parents aren't so thrilled, and I get why, but support will help far more than criticism to keep me motivated, I'm trying not to panic and I'll take most any job that I'm offered.
In the meantime, my dog is already happy I'm home and stress free and spent the morning sprawled across my chest sleeping and giving me kisses. THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT EVERYONE! It's deeply appreciated

| Sam, goodness I am so sorry you are going thru all of this. But what a relief when you quit huh? I will be praying for you to find a job very soon. Maybe in your town there is some temporary Christmas help needed until you find something.
I can't stop thinking about poor Kooper . How old is he now and is she still trying to sell him? |

I can't stop thinking about poor Kooper . How old is he now and is she still trying to sell him? | Thanks, yes i've applied for seasonal too, large bonus in quitting when I did is that at least temp/seasonal jobs abound right now.
Relief is an understatement! It's scary to know I have a month to find a job, not "just because" but must
Kooper will be 4 on May 19th of this coming year....she still "doesn't get" why he throws his fits and etc... the dog is actually a pretty easy read and was fantastic at home with me, she is so behind in her overall behavioral/veterinary/etc... education it's depressing.
It doesn't help she is trying to sell him for probably puppy price(she charges the average seen on this site) when he should be $2-300 IF that, he has issues and needs out but the $$ is more important....i understand maci costing more, she is fully trained in beginner agility and would be a great comp. dog but the right home is more important than "recouping costs" .....I don't even want to breed (so much credit to those that do it and do it right) and I know far better than her...so sad.

| If only she would sell him for $2-300 we could buy him from her and find him a new home.
I would be willing to pitch in some.... |

I would be willing to pitch in some.... | A delightful thought, but i don't want to line her pockets, and i doubt she'd give him to me at this point, i asked for him (for free, but still..) and she said no.
If I could take him and rehab him and find him a home I would in a heartbeat....he's really not a hard dog, just extremely! velcro to the highest dobie degree and he would be a great obed. dog...someones dream come true but in these days probably beyond their wallet, though again he really isn't worth much since he needs so much work.
